Mine's been dispatched, so yes, should do. I'm going to keep it unplayed until the train journey.

Shopto totally buggered up my order by switching to selling it as a digital download and then not sending me a digital download code and just cancelled my preorder, so I don't know when I'll get around to playing this. How's it playing? Standard good ol' Kirby fare?

It is more of a traditional Kirby game, for sure. The mech makes a surprising amount of difference to the gameplay, though - I've enjoyed the extra possibilities for puzzles and level design that it's brought into the mix.

Clearly a "thing" with Shopto, Jayseph: they cocked up mine as well. I sent a sniffy complaint to their team and bought it off Amazon instead. Should arrive tomorrow.

Yeah, I think I'll buy it from Amazon too. I've got credit sitting on my Shopto account, so I guess I'll just use that for the next PS4 game I want to buy if they're going to be cocking up my Nintendo purchases.

I started this tonight - it's rather good! The levels zip along at a fair pace once you hop into a mech, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the mechs utilising enemy abilities too. Besides that, it's standard Kirby fare - straightforward platforming fun. The two minigame modes are rather odd - the 3D Kirby game is a bit more puzzle-oriented than I'd imagined, and the RPG mode is bizarre. Having said that, I think it'd be a blast with a couple of mates to play with, so big thumbs up to Zero's idea.

Just fired it up for the first time. I'll play it in a minute. For now, I'mma just sit here and enjoy the intro-screen music... and this video is pretty great as well... This game is better than most games and I've not touched a single button yet!

Had a bash on this this morning. Good solid Kirbage; no mechs

Starting to properly work my way through this now, in the 4th zone and really enjoying it, only downside is that it feels like there might not be much left to it, am I correct in thinking that? Last Kirby game I played had at least the 8 worlds I think.

There aren't as many as 8 worlds this time out. KPR is like a brilliant firework - it doesn't last long but by jiminy, it's good whilst it does.

That's true, I want more Kirby-mech though, also a shame I'm pretty much done with the extra two modes already, both were fun but don't have much legs.

A few more bonus modes unlocked once I beat the game - one of them is bloody difficult and I've still not beaten it, so I'd say the game isn't as short as you'd expect.

That's true: getting a 100% save file will take a good chunk of time.

I'd say getting all the Code Cubes doesn't take too long, but beating all the bonus modes and nabbing all the stickers will take a fair while.

| As I don't have anything else to play at the moment, the fact that I've been struggling to justify playtime on this is not a glowing recommendation. But up until 2-3 it has felt like dull, banal, safe Kirby, of the type I've played before - once on this very console in fact. The robots and four new abilities (seriously, four? Could we not have had a few more? And why can I not be a doctor mech?) don't change things enough to change this fact.
That said, 2-4 did feel a bit more interesting than the previous levels. I have always loved casino-themed levels, maybe it's that. Regardless, I hope this ups its game soon. |

| DoPo. It was, for the most part, safe Kirby gaming, although the mechs were a nice and effective change of pace. What wasn't safe was the final boss. Madness. - Spoilers, obv.:
You're a Kirbyfied Halberd taking potshots at a giant cute-faced stopwatch which is ripping apart spacetime to attack you. Madness, and brilliant. Bradness.
