Howdy Gnamerers! I'm happy to announce a new podcast project from myself, Andy, Jay and Jaster: Guesstus Flask!

Guesstus Flask is a podcast where four idiots put their money where their mouths are and play through Dark Souls III blind, trying to decipher the story for themselves. They will almost definitely get confused, get lost, and chat some absolute bollocks. But that's the fun of it!

If you're at all into Dark Souls, or games generally, please check out the page and listen to episode one. I've properly put the effort into this for once: I've edited it, I've tried to stay on track and not go on too long.

We need to do a EP11 of the Podcast sometime as not had once February and since then we've done 3 Pod of War's and one Guesstus.

I didn't realise there was a thread as well that I've put my thoughts in the Dark Soul's thread in Nontendo.

Oooooh, we got retweeted and tweeted at by Twin Humanities!

I will listen, but... in a week or so. I can't jump into DS3 yet, and am trying to avoid spoilers. I fear I cheated a bit with DS1, and need to prove I can do at least some of it properly!

No Dark Souls III spoilers in episode 1, Jas wasn't playing yet either.

I had noticed that they follow the Guesstus account also.

Episode 2!

At least initially, these will be pretty regular just because we're all playing loads of DSIII and are therefore naturally desperate to talk about it.
Also, the show now has an RSS feed and should, hopefully, be on the iTunes before long!

I couldn't find it for a second as it's under Guesstus Flask which is sandwiched between Episode One of Guesstus and Pod of War V, not on the front page or even on the Podcast page at the top.

Maybe Guesstus Flask and Pod of War should have there own headers then all the content in them.

Great idea about RSS, something I've never used but could be useful for some also can all of Gintendo be RSS feeded and was it easy to get on iTunes as I looked once for the podcast and was confused on what to do.

No, I don't want to do that. Gintendo is primarily about the writings, and if these podcasts are going to be regular I don't want them filling up the home page. To make an RSS required creating a separate header, which is what I've done, but I did privately and now I can link to them from the main Guesstus page, which is what the twitter etc will link to. You should do the same with PoW, so they can be easily found without it taking up the front page.

RSS is mostly just for podcasts. You're welcome to do it with Pod of War, but I've said on twitter I don't want to do the same with GNamer's podcast. That isn't really the point of the GNamer one, and Guesstus is something I'm putting quite a lot of effort into and hoping will stand alone.

Wouldn't the homepage be the latest article, review, regular podcast, guesstus and pod of war. If they all had there own header.

Yeah maybe when Pod of War VI is done, I'll some how try to add them together like you have.

It just seemed odd to me seeing Episode 1 on the main page, ohh only Episode 1 is up then realising Episode 2 was elsewhere, hence why I said putting Guesstus on the front then you click that and there is all podcasts in order.

Also the other thing is how I've done of Pod of War doesn't actually replace any of the writing on the home page as they go in Podcasts, if that's what your worried about.

Episode 3

With plans to do 4 on Friday, and possibly 5 at the weekend.
AAAAAH DARK SOULS 3 IS SO GOOD AAAAAAAH.

Right, we have Episode 5.

I think this one is where the podcast really feels like what I imagined when I started it. A good discussion and debate about Souls lore, with a few amusing digressions.

Yeah, I have a feeling yesterdays was a good'un, will definitely have to listen back.

Was a good 'un, listening back to it. How was the edit job, Drunka?

Edit wasn't too hard. Had the recurring issue of deciding whether to truncate the silence, and have a few weird audio cut-outs, or to not bother and add an extra 4 minutes of awkward pauses.

Episode 6

We talk some real nonsense in this one, in the best way

When we finished recording, I thought that was going to be one of our worst so far. But, listening back it seems we did a decent job! Excited to chat about the areas ahead - it's where the lore gets really juicy.

Aye it all just felt so abrupt that night, glad to hear it's turned out OK though.

We're a little abrupt, but we've gotten fairly decent at squeezing it down to a nice half-hour.
Tomorrow's gonna be one where shit gets really real!

Episode 7 will be going up shortly! We had a fair old bit to say in this one, but I've gotten it down to 45 minutes. That's still a little longer than I like, but the only sensible cutting point would have left me with a ridiculously short second episode, so it was a bit Damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't.

Also, there are bits I'd have preferred to keep in, either #bantz or interesting points, but either because the audio was choppy or for time they had to go.

It is done.

Not had a chance to listen to this one back as of yet - it'll be done during the morning commute tomorrow, likely.

I'm guessing you'll have a "from the cutting room floor" episode after we're wrapped up, then?
