I'm not optimistic (about remembering, that is. I still reckon the game might be fun.)

Eh, we'll see. Unlike the thread creator (could we have a thread title change Mr. Thread Creator please?), I'm no massive 2D platformer enthusiast, and I'd be stressed about letting my Pikmin die. But it could still be good.

I've never played fully any of the Pokemon games so I'm intrigued by it as being on the 3ds I can maybe finish it (having hard time finishing games on the home consoles these days)

The closest I've got is a playthrough to about the halfway point on the NPC version of the first one. 2D has always been my style; hopefully I can get into this.

Ach, that's a shame. This did look alright after all, but that definitely doesn't bode well.

This is called Hey! Pikmin because it features Navi spouting orders throughout the whole game.

Watched the Go Nintendo preview on this, apparently it's still very Pikmin-esque just on a 2D plain rather than 3D, might be worth a look in after all (although I enjoyed Ziplash so what would I know).

Ugh, Zip Lash. The best thing I can say about that game was that it was inoffensive. Back on-topic, I've still got an eye on this, but my enthusiasm for it is waning somewhat...

I will play it because I love Pikmin but I'm not expecting it to blow my tits off or anything.

| A demo is up for download on the European eShop, and, lo and behold, my tits have not been blown off. It's all right though - certainly worth a bash.

| Had a little bash on this last night. It's okay, a nice little slice of Pikmin fun in a sidescrolling, bitesize formula.
It doesn't capture most of why I love Pikmin. Though there's a little bit of exploration and secrecy to the levels, I never felt all alone exploring an alien land like I did in the Pikmin games as it was too linear. Because the Pikmin seem to be picked up fresh each level, they just feel like ammo so I never felt guilty when they died. The whole thing had a happy-go-lucky feel that wasn't as memorable as the melancholy of Pikmin.
Also, apparently this is a different planet? Which just so happens to have Earth-like objects and Pikmin? The ending better be a Planet of the Apes twist!
Anyway, I enjoyed it and I'll probably buy it but I doubt I'll be obsessed with it the way I was the proper Pikmin trilogy. |

For my first Pikmin game I admit I didn't mind it. Might actually get me to hunt down the Timothy and give that a bash

Holding up my hand to say that I too have finished the demo. "A charming little 2D platformer with a nice control scheme" would be my demo review, but it didn't feel terribly special or compelling. In my head it has moved to "one to buy when the price goes down/you've got lots of trade-ins and nothing more pressing to play" on my scale. Yes, I have a scale. Yes, it has a lot of detail on it.

I have it on a similar tier, though I think I'm more reluctant to start a 3DS game than yourself, as A) I like playing my Switch too much and Bee) I play so much Monster Hunter nothing else gets a look in on 3DS.
