Shouldnt those buttons under sigs be under our avatars? the profile/private message and so on buttons themselves are fine but the little "Online" banner when people are online seems out of place there I remember on my forums that would always appear on the corner of an avatar

I mentioned this the other day.
I'm guessing someone has tampered with the thread title issue that I mentioned the other day. Because now the thread titles are invisible.

That's driving me nuts at the moment too, but not quite as nuts as this forum colour thing. I've fixed to roughly how it was before for the time being, though I think the category headers are a little brighter than they were before. Not sure whether that's good or not.
@Dusty: I've been looking into your point about the dark blue topic heading text on top of an already blue background. Sadly (and unlike the forum category titles which appear white) the topic title text shares the same pantone as the regular post text and I can't see any way in which it can be changed. It has been improved slightly by me changing the category header colour, but I agree it's still not perfect. We can put up with that for the time being though, right?

Ah, excellent! Thanks for that, Gazzadp! And thank you for your feedback, also. I do have a Twitter profile for the forum, but I don't bother with Facebook too much, so it'd get neglected if I set a public page up.

I could set up a Facebook page, in my fabled and possibly mythical free time later today.

I was looking into the admin settings yesterday and apparently it's possible to sync the forum with Facebook. Unfortunately, it required registering as a Facebook developer and that sounds like it might get complicated somewhere down the line.
If you get chance, Balla, that would be fab! I'd attempt to stick my head in there from time to time. For the time being though, I'll concentrate on keeping our The Twitter™ feed ticking over.
Also, I haven't bothered to mention this subject yet, but it is possible to change our URL to something more appropriate. I haven't mentioned it because it's completely unnecessary, and there's a massive possibility we'd lose everyone who didn't know we'd changed the address.

I agree entirely, and if I make a Facebook page (spoiler: probably not today), it won't be directly linked to becoming a member. It'll be an advertisement device, like Stu's Twitter feed.

But seeing as the venerable Philips (Phillips) made such a good job of finding good bargains whether they be Nintendo or other formats, what about the possible idea of a dedicated bargains section, which would be ideal for him to manage as his own little section!
I think this would be a good idea as well, i'd also (prolly) contribute but a whole section seems like overkill to me. Maybe just a dedicated thread in General Gaming or such?

Any way to change the number of posts per page? To say... 25?

You should sort out those buttons at the top of the page for example remove stuff that probably wont ever be used like "usergroups" and "gallery" and add some stuff that might be useful like I think you can add a blog which members can contribute to (could be good for reviews and stuff) and there's a callendar which could be used for scheduling online gaming stuff like Mario Kart on sundays I could have a go at making some icons for that sort of thing as well if you want?

I'll have a look at activating the calendar soon. I spotted it and couldn't see the point of it at first, but you raise a good point.
And has Gazza has mentioned: check out our swish new URL. Both now work, so take your pick.

I'm confused, who is this "Google bot" chap that comes on every so often? He makes my fingernails go purple from paranoia.

If it puts your mind at ease, I can hide bots? Though I rather like to see them.

I'd like to see them. It's amusing, but if it gets out of hand and we get swarmed by a robotic uprising, then obviously hide them.

Just wondering, is there a way to cap the max size of images posted? I've had one or two instances where I've seen a huge picture posted and it's broken the layout of the thread for me.

We can indeed impose a cap. What would be preferred dimensions? 800x800?

Whatever the dimensions of are for a full line of text for width, and then something reasonable for height to match, I reckon that would do the trick just nicely!
