I certainly didn't! I feel like Bethesda just wants to put skyrim on everything these days. Not that I'm complaining.

No release date, though. Meh Still, I'll be buying it. Hope they've fixed all the bugs, but I won't hold my breath (of the wild).

I've still not played more than a matter of minutes of Skyrim, so this version feels like a must-buy.

If it's just vanilla instead of Definitive (and is also mad expensive like Switch Games are rumored to be atm) would you still go for it over the Xbox version?

Absolutely. The XBOX version wouldn't get played, whereas the on-the-go play makes Switch attractive.

Also, all new consoles' games look expensive when it's announced.

I do hope that it's the Special Edition they're bringing to Switch. I couldn't tell from the trailer if it was, to be honest.

Not listed as the Special Edition but is coming Fall 2017, its cool if you've not played it but you can buy the game on 360 for £5.00 and is also on PC, PS3, PS4 and ONE that its a pass from me.

I'll reserve judgement until we get more details. I'm not overly fussed if it doesn't come with the graphical updates from the PS4/ONE ports, but if it doesn't at least ship with the DLC, then I'll be passing on this.

Never dabbled in anything like this, really - open-world games scare me a little bit because my free time is a bit constrained most days. That said, I have my eye on it, because it's a massive third-party game that will probably need supporting. It's just the sort of thing that could have come out for the Wii U (you can fight me on machine spec needs if you like - I'll be over here, sipping coolly from my cherry Lucozade, cos that's the kind of guy I am) but didn't because of the low install base. Good on 'em for giving it a go, says I.

I do recommend checking this out if you've not played Skyrim before, regardless if it's the Special Edition or the vanilla game. It's a properly special epic and easily one of the best open world Western RPGs.

If it is the bog-standard edition, though, that's the Switch bored below the waterline before it leaves the dock. A surefire sign that we'll be getting the below-par third-party games that dogged the early days of the Wii U, before publishers gave up any pretence of trying.

I'll agree with you on that part. I can see if they wouldn't include the graphical updates because of some performance reason, but there's no reason to not include the DLC for a 6 year old game with this port.

Oh wait - yes there is...

If it's what's in the trailer then it's in a in-between version which sort makes sense.

I wouldn't worry about 3rd party support Balla, I think it will be fine but be more like 3DS and VITA then PS4 and One.

I don't like Skyrim (found it rather lifeless), but I'm really happy to see all the buzz it's created since the original Switch direct a ways back. I hope that buzz is enough to motivate Besthesda into releasing a GOTY edition.

I think it's the prospect of a portable Elder Scrolls that has people interested, and it's got people wishing for other games to turn up on Switch so they can receive the portable treatment too. Perfect game for promoting the Switch's relationship with third-party devs, really.

Portable Elder Scrolls worked out really well for Nokia.

I'd almost prefer that personally, but I know there's been a lot of buzz around yer Skyrims and yer Soulseseseses on the go.

I don't want to harp on about sales, y'all know I hate that - but Nintendo do need a success here.

I'd like Reuters to confirm whether that was a joke or not.

The visuals were definitely sharper than my 360 version ever did. And - not that I will ever play my Switch in public ever - but being able to play little bits of the game away from the PC/TV is definitely a good'n. Although it's a big open world game, it does suit bite-sized play. If you've not, but might... DO. I won't, mind - because I've put about 300 hours into the f***er already.

I revisited it a couple of years ago and changed my playstyle from "big dude with greatsword" to "sword and shield mage". I might try the ever-popular "sneaky archer" on Switch.

Good plan - I'd also go for "sneaky dagger dude"; I managed to get a combination of magic clothes and weapon that meant I could hurt someone x72 if I snuck up on them.

If these names aren't exactly how you set up your character, I will be very disappointed.
