Just jamming blocks together doesn't work in the games, but will jamming the games together work? I dunno, I haven't even watched the trailer I'm just on a thread-starting power trip.

Cool, I'm going to buy that with money that is mine. That's the plan anyway.

Heard good thing about this out of Japan who got it back in 2014 and with English trophies appearing online, it was only matter if time it was coming to the west and glad its on the Switch.

This is a game I'm mad keen to see more of. I have so many questions - the first of which, after that trailer, is "Do you always have to have two Puyo Puyo players and two Tetris players on the four-player?" Most of the trailer made it seem like Puyo Puyo and Tetris, like there was Dr. Mario and Tetris on the SNES... but there was a little glimpse of a genuine mash-up at the end. Good.

Lets play from Giant Bomb with a import version, which may answer some questions

Yes! Really, something Tetris-y and something Bomberman-y were gong to be day 1 purchases. Sounds dumb, but I am part of a family of classic couch multiplayer gamers. Plus maybe I'll "git slightly gud" at Puyo-Puyo. I've played both Kirby's Ghost Trap and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (even though they're the same thing) and I've never really felt like I mastered it like I have Tetris.

Very out of the blue this, looks good fun but hopefully with a budget price.

I think its like £40 which is alot and I hope we aren't paying a premium on Switch for some games.

This and ARMS are my surprise favourites from the footage of this weekend! Could see myself losing hours into something like this and i bet its fun as all hell with some buddies! Wish it was launch here like it seems to be in Japan!

A definite yes, loved the 3DS version. Almost sad that Sega isn't releasing the 3DS version in the west actually, as the 3D effect is superb. Since this version is called "Puyo Puyo Tetris S" in Japan, I wonder if there's new content?

There'd better be a sizeable update of extra #content from the 3DS version. They will be told off in no uncertain terms if it's the same game on a much more powerful and more groovy system.

Was their any difference between the 3DS and PS4 version, back when it came out in Japan? If their isn't any extras, I can only seeing that be a bad thing for Japan as we've never had.

News from Deep Silver who sent me a PR email, this will be retail in Europe for PS4 & Switch with the PS4 version costing £24.99, where the Switch version costs £34.99.
I've got no idea why it is £10 more on Switch as the argument that could have be made for why its £34.99 because likes of Zelda being £59.99 is it's the RRP for Switch games and day one, which has been the same on all console launches and if you look on something like PSN Resident Evil 7 is £49.99 as that's the RRP. some even cost more like COD which is £54.99.
I guess its due to lack of demand and install base that they have to charge more for a audience of 3 million then one of 55 million, but does seem we are getting a raw deal and now I'm not sure where I'll get it as it looks like a Switch game (if that makes sense) but £10 is a decent PSN or eShop game.

Whilst it is a bit of a kick in the teeth to have a ten quid premium just because you've got a new console, it's a relief to see that not all Switch games will be £50 or more. This is another one I'm reet keen on in the Jimbob mould.

April 28th looks like it will be a great day for Switch with this now being confirmed for that date along with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Constructor HD .

Yeah, April 28th and all, but...I'm wanting new experiences on my new £280 games console. Innovations within key franchises is one thing, but Constructor, Mario Kart 8 and especially Puyo Puyo and Tetris aren't going to be much different from what they were like in 1997, 2014 and 1326 respectively.

The whole Switching mechanic is quite innovative.

I think this'll be good - Puyo Puyo and Tetris are both so simple and finely-tuned by this point - but it's just a bit difficult to get excited about it, that's all. Theme Park World Ridge Racer Type 4 would have been what I'd have done.

Once the Switch is the handeld I've got with me out and about, having some sort of Tetris-alike is a must. Like you said though, it's hard to get excited about. That'd be like getting excited about my cereal tomorrow.

I'm actually really excited about it and almost imported for PS4 back in 2014
I can't remember who sad it but they said likes of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe isn't for the 13 million Wii U owners it's for everyone that didn't buy a Wii U and that's a lot of people.

Us mugs buying on day one are product testers. The real launch is Christmas, that's when the new games will drop. A steady drip feed of Wii U ports and upgrades will make the games available look better in that holiday period. The smart choice is to wait until then, but the joy of a new Nintendo machine, the best possible Zelda and the portability mean I'm more than happy for Nintendo to use me for 9 months.
Harder daddy!

I played the original Puyo Puyo back in 1326. It was a messy business.

I don't know if I said it but my Puyo Puyo fact, is that it was the last SEGA published Dreamcast game and thier first multiplatform game for years.

I heartily approve of this mash-up! If you've ever tried to get to Alton Towers, this makes perfect sense. Actually, this gives me an idea...

Has anyone (a) downloaded the demo; (b) decided to take the plunge?
I've a and b myself. I miss a good Tetris, and it'd be good to have this digitally, and instantly accessible, thus paying WAY over the odds for it! Also interesting that you can choose purely one of the "systems" (so, after 2 days, Tetris then!) Also a bit odd that Tetris ends up with "crazy characters" like the Puyo gang. But I'm still well up for this.
