I suppose for the casual market, that's true. But I didn't play Wii Sports for a month solid. - ZeroJones wrote:

Amazon sent me an e-mail at 7:45 this morning, saying they were back in stock. Bounded downstairs half-naked to place an order ASAP. Anyway, I've digressed past Fronk's very good points - apologies |

| Seems the online for Switch will cost $20-30 a year based of a interview with Kimishima, this to me is okay for what we have heard it offers. |

| Yup, just read this one myself! Presuming a $1 = £1 'exchange rate', thirty quid a year isn't that bad. |

| Can we talk about reward system again as it seems thanks to Nicalis that their won't be one or at least not a system wide one.
I've said it on Twitter but to me this is a big deal in terms of the likes of Dragon Quest XI (which maybe different on Switch to PS4 like the 3DS to PS4 but using it as an example), I'm now pretty much going to get that on PS4.
Yeah it's only a trophy that dings in the corner and I'm not one to play games or do things for the sake of them just for a trophy but I said it about the PS2X-DCube, PS360ii and now with PSONE4U that if I'm spending £40-60 on a game, I want the most bang for my buck.
That's why all my multiplatform games I buy are on PS4 because they have trophies and in most cases especially on Pro run at a 1080p 60fps or above, sure it doesn't change the game (in most cases) but that's just me and I've done it since I've been able to have all the formats.
I'm not saying I won't buy multiplatform games on Switch but it's going to be things I feel suit the system like I Am Setsuna, Sonic Mania, Project Sonic basically games of a more retro / handheld nature.
Of course we don't know about Nintendos own games if they will follow on like Miitomo, Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes with a Medal system. |

| Rewards, internet browser, Virtual Console -it doesn't seem like there'll be much of anything on the Switch. You know what would be cracking? Some news. It's all been very, very quiet since the January Direct. I assumed that another Direct would happen before March 3rd, but it would be such a Nintendo move for them just to send the Switch out in sixteen days with, astoundingly, what feels like even less hype than the Wii U. Excitement levels sound like they're through the floor of the Switch. I was thinking for the last few weeks that surely launch day wouldn't come around with the Switch being in the shape that it was straight after that Direct, but amazingly that's honestly looking like the case. There's actually nothing I want on March 3rd! |

| You must be looking in different places to me as thier seems to be quite a bit of hype around the Switch and Nintendo even seems to marketing it, with ads during the Super Bowl and Google searches are higher then the PS4 before it launched. |

| I don't blame you for wanting more information, Cappa. I get the impression Nintendo aren't focusing on online at launch though, which probably explains their radio silence on the subject. It's Zelda and the Switch, and that's yer lot at launch, I reckon.
I also don't blame anybody for holding back on purchasing a Switch - I'm just happy to be swept away in the hype wave. |

| In interviews they've said they want to focus on games and it as a games console but things have changed over the years. Sony's marketing for the PS4 was/is 4 the players from day one about the games, yet they still had pretty much everything we from a console now, ready to go from day one. |

Agree with mas, I reckon there's a substantial amount of hype around the launch. It's way more visible than the WiiU was! |

| Here's a dull 3 minute video of some guy filming himself setting up a Switch profile, and wifi settings etc, on his phone. If, you know, seeing the Switch Operating System in action is your thing then I'm really happy for you. |

| Worth bearing in mind that Switch probably has nothing installed on it, but yeah it's nice to see it zip about through all the menus.
What impressed me more was how nice the screen looks, even through a phone's eye view.

| I saw folks talking about that on Twitter - I'm not going to watch it. There's a bit of fun and excitement in setting up a new console for the first time, so I want that for myself. |

| There was some chat about this on the Midres Discord. I won't be watching, like Jay I don't want that day one feeling spoiled. In other news, I just discovered this guy, Captain Nintendo, who is spending a month in line to be the first to receive a Switch. He's a bit more "youtube" than my usual tastes, but he's very pleasant and positive and I'm enjoying his stuff as an extra bit of hype. |

| This probably doesn't quite deserve it's own thread yet but I'm quite happy that Ultimate Chicken Horse is coming to Switch in Q3.
