Nintendo Switch Bargains Thread

Just saw this on twitter: Amazon offering 1, 2 Switch download codes for £1.99. Probably an error they might not honour, but can't miss out on trying something like this!

...aaand it's gone.

No confirmation email, but it did say Price Guarantee and it's still on my orders, so who knows? The couple of other people I know are reporting the same.

Looks like it wasn't up for long so maybe few enough people caught it that they'll just roll with it, but then again they may want to make money.

Their not going to honour it, it seems.

See, that's a price that could tempt me on 1 2 Switch.

I figured they wouldn't honour it though. Still, a worthwhile thread that I'll no doubt revisit in the future.

1-2-Switch would be class as a download - imagine carting that about and being able to launch straight into those minigames with the two JoyCons with anyone, anywhere. That would have been a great showcase for the system, and it would have been an amazing gesture of goodwill for Amazon and Nintendo UK to honour that deal. It would have reflected very positively on Nintendo too.

Here's the Pro Controller for £54.99 on Grainger Games. Most places seem to be selling it for a tenner more, so maybe you'd want to help yourself to this "bargain".

Apart from one or two jammy gits, Amazon have reneged on the deal (making me wonder what exactly their guarantee guarantees).

If it goes down in price after a few days or something as I have had like £4 back from then once

They're not particularly well known (with shops only being in the south west of Scotland), but I've used them before and they're absolutely fine.

It's a guarantee for genuine prices that then rise, so they don't count anything mispriced (which they'd argue this clearly was)

I agree with all of the above. Do so. I spent far too much tie on the original version, so I don't see the need to upgrade to the Switch version (I wouldn't buy the same game for two consecutive generations *hides Mario Kart 8 box*) but if you missed it the first time round, you're in for some top laffs.

Probably would have jumped on Tetris & Bomberman if they were both 20 quid but I just bought Lego city the other day & I don't need more games that I'll mainly play in multiplayer at the moment. Still some decent deals though.

Yeah, my advice is to not even entertain the thought of getting Bomberman for anything over 20 quid (but each to their own). Personally, I'm not thinking about getting Puyo Puyo Tetris until it's under 20 quid.

I know! It's honestly the only one I can think of that I've nabbed. I'm a big day-one-er who prefers to trade in and buy from shops rather than buy online, though...

Jumped on this from Argos, cheers Cappa! I tried to order from Amazon to take advantage of my Prime membership and free delivery, but they said it wouldn't be dispatched until July.

Just got an e-mail saying "Order Cancelled". It's my fault - I left my credit card somewhere on Saturday, cancelled it, and so there's a new code on the back that doesn't match with what I said it was when I made the order. I won't know the code until I get the card through the post, so... ehhh.

UPDATE: OK, sale still on, tried again with debit card. We'll see how this one trucks...

Not much as a saving as that is basically the conversion rate now but if you are looking at Secret of Mana Collection, Monster Hunter XX etc on Switch via the Japanese eShop then this is a good deal.
