Well it's now been disqualified and taken out of the game.

Pokémon Direct imminent! I'm surprised we're getting this so close to E3... it makes me wonder what Nintendo are planning to spotlight during their E3 Direct.

Nintendo don't often highlight Pokemon content in their main Directs. I think the brand is big enough that it can get a whole audience of its own. I think this will be my cut-off point for looking at Pokemon SS stuff. After this Direct, I'll be on spoiler avoidance until release.

Think from memory that Nintendo usually shy away from Pokemon during E3 to focus more on whats coming up, like mario maker etc and have their own direct before or after the event

I can't wait to have the entire game spoiled by official trailers and the entirety of the Internet sharing them.

I hope that The Pokémon Company announce the Pokémon "Bulbasaur", and the ""Charmander"" Pokémon.

Fuck me this looks good. I don't need any other games. Nintendo can do a Sony and take E3 off, quite frankly.

This direct and Death Stranding sort of show don't need E3 anyway but still going to be excited for the week as I'm off.

I'm going to do some Direct thoughts so don't read on if you don't want to see them I suppose!











First off: this looks very attractive indeed (apart from the trees which are N64 level).  The new Pokémon look a bit meh apart from CROW OF DOOM... which is also a taxi , but I'm very much up for the region in general.

I am in particular very much up for what looks like a BotW-style catching area.  I'm a bit sad that it's not the only place you can catch Pokémon, in fact, linking all the other towns.  I don't want random battles, I want this!  Apart from the multiplayer aspect.  Stop trying to make me play your social series with friends Game Freak.

Giant Pokémon is a decent enough idea for a battle gimmick, but on top of Z-Moves and Megas it remains altogether too much.  

Game Freak have no idea what British sports stadia look like because that ain't it.  Also: anyone else see that Milo is Mido from OoT, but large?
