I know we've seen a still of it - it was teased in the iOS version, after all - but I didn't remember seeing that in motion in the first trailer.

Am I right in thinking this used the touchscreen heavily on DS then on Mobile? As I'm sure I heard the other day, when this is played docked on Switch, you have to use a Joy-Con as a Wiimote basically and point at the screen, which sounds like mince.

On the 3DS at least, very heavily. Think this might be a handheld-only game in all but name.

Yeah, massively so. It was all about swiping or tapping in combat and you moved Neku about by dragging the stylus where you wanted him to go.

Does put me off a little but I'm willing to give it ago but I do think it will get played less being handheld only pretty much as I can't see me pointing at my TV with the Joy-Con.

I'd hoped they were working out a way to make this feel smooth to play with a controller.

Nah but seeing how Octo is doing Nintendo who is publishing TWEWY would be mad to not bring it or some sort of special edition over.

We've got a date, 12th of October not the month I would put something like this out then again you could argue it is the sort of game that has an audience and they would buy whenever it's coming out.

Woo, excite! That's October's big game sorted. Everyone on here who doesn't despise JRPGs, and maybe even a few who do, should consider picking this up. (It is quite talky though.)

If you like maths, edginess and J-Pop, this is the game for you.

I certainly like 2/3 of those plus part from Pokémon this is like only Switch game I'm looking forward to.

While TWEWY is good enough to warrant the £40/$50 Square Enix wants for the game, there are a few sticking points:

-the port is lazy. This looks like they took the cheaper iOS version of the game and stuck it on Switch, added an extra scenario (which the publisher isn't even confident in showing us in the trailers or screenshots) and called it a day. The NPC and enemy sprites still look like garbage (the developers simply stuck through through an upscaling algorithm instead of redrawing them) which is disappointing

-I'm sure it's on Switch for business reasons, but surely an upgraded version would make more sense on 3DS as well, or just on 3DS?

-If you want to play TWEWY but with the joys of more modern hardware, it's probably going to be better and work better on a DSi XL. That handheld has gloriously bright and vivid IPS displays with superb viewing angles, and transforms many-a DS game.

Yeah, I think losing the dual screen combat system might end up hurting the game somewhat, but I'm saying this with no knowledge as to how the combat system works on iOS. It might end up being perfectly fine.

I mean, it'd probably work better there, but I'm glad they've moved with the tech.! The port thing is a legitimate worry though.

3 years ago I'd would have bought on 3DS but not now, I've moved on and if things like Detective Pikachu can't even chart then what hope would this have on 3DS.
