| While that sounds about right, do bear in mind that Jay is the world's forum's biggest TWEWY fanboy and would probably buy Froom in the Night Sky if you could play as Neku. |

| Whilst I'll gladly accept that title, I wouldn't lead folks astray if I felt this was a crappy port or anything. I still think it's a great game even if you're not as biased or invested in it as I am. |

| Double post - something I'm tempted to try out is what folks have coined "solo co-op" mode. TWEWY on Switch has a co-op mode in docked or tabletop mode where one player controls Neku and another controls the partner using the Joy-Con controls. Folks have been playing this solo with one hand controlling Neku and the other controlling the partner to try and evoke the more unique combat system of the original version. Apparently it's a blast to play albeit one with a similar learning curve to the original. I'm tempted to give it a bash as the combat system does feel like it's missing that special spark of the original. |

| I'm still super iffy on this, I'm still going to put it on my Christmas list but near the bottom especially when I've seen reviews say things like best game ever that isn't worth buying due to the port. |

| If I could make an honest recommendation, I'd say if you've got still got your 3DS kicking up that it'd be best to play the original unless you're really keen to play it on Switch with the updated visuals and new content. |

| Ah, Calling. Good to have you back.
Is it just me, or does Neku have a different voice actor this time around? And a less powerful one at that. |

| Slapped that on as my menu theme first chance I got!
You got me curious as I genuinely didn't notice a difference, so I'll need to keep an eye out during the credits in case they've changed voice actors. I don't think they have, for what it's worth, and the Internet unearthed no answers for me so there's that. |

| Maybe I just have a romanticised memory then. I didn't remember that early-game moment with Neku and Shiki either. Apology accepted a bit quickly, methinks! The game does feel a bit old though. I can't help but wonder whether, shorn of its initial uniqueness, I'll like it quite as much. |

| I disagree with it feeling dated. Even with it being from 2008, some of its design choices are still fresh and haven't been tackled in the same way in other RPGs - stuff like picking your own battles with the scanning system, lowering your level to get higher chances for loot, chaining battles to increase loot drops... stuff like that keeps this feeling like no other RPG in my eyes.

| Well you would. Me, I'm not a great fan of loot-farming... I'm going to fiddle around with a couple of games for now, see which one tickles my fancy. TWEWY's still in the mix. |

| It's more than just that - those were the first examples that came to mind.
I'm genuinely interested though as to why you think it's dated. I'll hold my hands up and admit my view may be tinged by nostalgia in some areas, but I do think the core experience of TWEWY is still an absolute blast in 2018. |

| Perhaps it's my childhood memories, thinking everything was a bit quicker, smoother, and felt better under the stylus/finger than they actually were.
Ultimately, though, I'm expecting all the things it does well to be done well, so they won't have the shock and awe factor. And that's one thing the game did very well at the time: I'd never played something like it. |

| That's fair enough - there's nothing like the magic of experiencing something for the first time. - Balladeer wrote:

I felt the same way when I started this on Switch, but as I progressed through the game the combat system began to feel better and indeed smoother. I think it's a combination of being out of practice and getting used to the combat system again, coupled with the fact that using a finger feels imprecise compared to using the stylus back on DS. Did you end up picking up a stylus for Switch? If not, this is the one I went for. |

| I haven't, not yet - is that going to make a big difference? Not sure how keen I am on carrying a stylus around in addition to everything else... |

| I felt my enjoyment with the game skyrocketed after picking up a stylus, but your mileage may vary, of course. |

| You'll be erasing Noise like there's no tomorrow. I've had this on the backburner since RDR2 seized my attention, but I'm hopeful I'll polish it off before the year ends. |

| The stylus is being delivered on Wednesday. I get back home on Friday. Friday is also the day I pick up Let's Go! Eevee. |

| TWEWY is the perfect game to put in the back burner though as you're still levelling up your pins when you're not playing it. I'm just checking back in every now and then to swap my pins out and make sure I'm levelling up the right ones to evolve them. Pat on the back to whoever came up with that idea during development! |

| Started playing tonight, I tried on the TV first and didn't think the pointer was that bad, the issue I found was with doing attacks and using the triggers to so.
I'd want to do one type of thing and the game would do another.
Then went for touch, I thought I'd be clever and use the Switch just as a tablet but I don't think it quite works properly due to it thinking I'm playing tabletop mode.
It's a bit awkward and big to use when the Joy-Cons are attached, maybe a stylus would help. Do only certain ones work as tried my WiiU one along with trying to find my big pen style one but no idea where it is.
On the actual game seems like a 2D Persona thing which I do like and much like RDR2, I may just push on regards of controls. |

| There's a reason I was so excited about P5 being set in Shibuya, you know!
Yeah, a stylus definitely helps. I was able to convince the game to play in touchscreen mode with Joy-Con disconnected pretty easily, so I'm not sure what problem you're running into there. As for what stylus works, it needs to be a capacitive stylus, I think. This was the one I went for. |

| WiiU is resistive touch, not capacitive, so I doubt its stylus will work on Switch |

| Makes sense, the other issue isn't with the Switch or the game per se but it's a JRPG and I'm playing Final Fantasy XIII at the moment that even though TWEWY is way more stylish it's not as easy to get going compared to XIII and I'll soon be playing Persona 3 & 5 Dancing sure aren't JRPG's but ooze style. |

I'm going to need clarification on this one... I like FFXIII and all but that game took at least twenty hours to get going and open up, so that seems like a bit of a bonkers statement! |
