The lack of updates in the MGS Music Marathon is obviously a stinging commentary on the unfinished nature of MGSV, isn't it? We're awesome at this.
Jokes aside, we should probably get this bashed out.

No worries Drunka. I may start updating the thread weekly again - I didn't really want there to be a break in the updates for the Metal Gear Marathon, though.
And that pizza theme is a banger. A stress-inducing banger, but a banger nonetheless.

Metal Gear Solid V
Hi. I'm Drunkalilly. I'm here to share with you some music from Metal Gear Solid V. Kept you waiting, huh?
Here's To You
My mission here was to rescue some prisoners from Camp Omega, an unsubtle allegory for Guantanamo Bay. This song played as the game, in one unbroken shot, explored the camp and the characters before swinging over to Big Boss as he approaches to engage his mission. The song is about a pair of anti-establishment rebels: Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were Italian-born US anarchists who were executed by the electric chair. The themes of MGSV, both Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain, were of disobeying the government and Snake finally setting out and creating Outer Heaven, the military nation without rulers he's known for in Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2. Also, this is a great song that reminds me of classic westerns.
Paz
One of the people I was sent to extract, or kill if necessary, was Paz. A young girl I'd once thought was in love with me, she turned out to be a spy. She was captured and tortured for information about me. The whole story is horrible and tragic, and the music is appropriately sad. Once we get to the helicopter, my medic who sounds a lot like me discovers an explosive surgically implanted in her and I ended up put in a coma.
Hi, Drunkalilly hear. I'm back from my coma and have some songs from MGSV:The Phantom Pain, that you can listen to them. What songs has Drunkalilly picked? Let's find out!
Quiet's Theme Stefanie Joosten Sings Quiet's Theme at The Game Awards 2015, MGSV Wins Best Soundtrack
Sins of the Father A bit like Snake Eater, or Heaven's Divide, this is kinda the theme tune.
Infected A sscary song from a bit that shows you how good silent hills would have been
Not Your Kind of People Nuclear Not from the games but from the trailers that these are still really good songs that get me hyped for MGSVTPP.
Spoiler:
Hello Drunkalilly. It's me, Drunkalilly. I am you and you are me. You used to be Masofdas, but while you've been talking about the MGSV:TPP OST, I've been busy with the game's real soundtrack: The tapes.
The Man Who Sold the World The surreal and wonderful opening to the game features Midge Ure's surreal and wonderful cover of the late, great David Bowie's surreal and wonderful original. A perfect song for the game's main big, scripted moment. This song, and this section, is when the game feels most Kojima. Top stuff to bookend the experience.
Take On Me A-ha's Take On Me is an all-time banger, as I'm sure y'all know. Nothing in games comes close to, as I finished a tense, action-packed infiltration mission, calling in my helicopter and hearing the slow approach of the speakers blaring out this bad boy. Quality stuff. Matt Lees gets it.
Those two are my favourites, but the 80s playlist in this game was all banger, no clanger. You should check it out; while Masofdas Drunkalilly takes you through his base with OST tracks, I'll be here with 80s soundtracks.
I am Drunkalilly and so are you.

Great idea, Venom Snake/Big Boss - far cleverer than how I'd have covered MGSV! And solid picks - Kojima's choices in real world music tracks are stellar.

I mean.... it could be arranged. But to truly get in line with the point of MGSV, surely I need to change everyone's username to Drunkalilly?

I've asked to do this special final week to celebrate not just Metal Gear but Hideo Kojima's other works over these past 30 years in the industry. Hideo Kojima Week
I'm going to start not at the start of his career but right now with the trailer / music of his latest creation starring Norman Reedus and be worked on alongside Mark Cerny
With the track I'll Keep Coming from Low Roar, this song along with the trailer has been watched and re-watched again to figure out anything about Death Stranding, which has led to a lot of people including myself to believe this is actually about Kojima and Konami, with a song being called I'll Keep Coming. Kojima will keep coming, and Konami can't hold him back like how the trailer shows Norman handcuffed which is a metaphor for Kojima being handcuffed to Konami.
Now we start from the start with the first game was involved in as assistant director Penguin Adventure which none of has have likely played unless we had a MSX in 1987, the complete soundtrack only seems to be around 9minutes long but I give to you the end credits which would be the first time we would have seen Kojima's name
Snatcher and Policenauts
Outside of another game which we come too, these two are the most well-known games from Kojima that aren't Metal Gear. Both games do have ties to the Metal Gear series with a Metal Gear being in Snatcher and Meryl as you can see appearing in Policenauts, again like Penguin most of you wouldn't have played and I'm still yet to play myself. i do have the means to play but my Japanese isn't the best.
Old LA 2040, and One Night in Neo Kobe City.
Now we move onto some J-Pop from a dating series on which Kojima worked on not one but three games in a series Tokimeki Memorial
This outside Metal Gear is the series you'd most likely associated Kojima with, it's not his best work and myself like many others bought the first game for the MGS2 demo which was bundled in but hey the Z.O.E was still decent and give you this Piano Rendition .
Next up is a game which is exclusive to Nintendo Systems Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand.
Now a list from me wouldn't be complete without something Dreamcast related and I give you survival horror D2 in which Kojima was given special thanks in the credits.
We finish this special week with you guessed it P.T. AKA Silent Hills and the ambient music from the Playable Teaser.
Kojima has of course worked on more games in many competencies over his 30 years in the gaming industry and here is to another 30 years.

This popped into my head earlier. I've always thought that it was very atmospheric, and that it fitted the mood of the game perfectly.
It also makes me very nostalgic for the day that I walked into HMV in Braehead and saw literally a hundred copies of it on the N64 for £4.99 each. They weren't on the shelves, they were in stacks next to the other twenty-or-so N64 games they were selling. You'd make a tidy profit on that today, I'll tell you...

That sounds like it wouldn't be out of place in the film Bloodsport, which just makes it all the better.

I downloaded Neo Turf Masters on Google Play earlier, which is so good that I got in an back-and-forth email argument with Nintendo Life when they gave it 6/10 in their Wii Virtual Console review.
Anyway, the Germany course theme is outstanding.

Neo Geo games rule, wish more people talked about them.
With the delay of Gravity Rush 2 to January 20th, my birthday may look very good for games coming out in January and then when I was driving home today a track on a Taylor Davis album came on of one of games coming in January.
I know its 3 months away but as I'm sharing the one track that came on in the car, I may as well turn into a bunch of tracks of games I'm looking forward to in January. Gravity Daze/Rush 2, Town Theme
The track which came on in the car, Hikari from Kingdom Hearts
Yakuza 0, La-Di-Da
Resident Evil 7, Go Tell Aunt Rhody
Tales of Berseria, Velvet's Theme

I talked about some of these back on the GOTYCast and with talks of some of the sticky threads not getting much use, I thought I would give this a bump.
First game is GDC nominated for best narrative and studio for best debut
Very Stranger Things sounding.
Next game is GDC nominated for GOTY, Innovation, Narrative, Visual Art and studio debut
Cover from the OST
Those where some great years of last year, I will now give you a Kojima related track
From Side B of the Death Stranding Vinyl

This just popped into my head. That was a bit unexpected - I've not played Mickey Mania in at least a decade. But I've got fond memories of it, and this is a quality tune.

Jay's wonderful post back here did a good job of detailing some of the great music from Undertale, but he missed out a couple of my favourites. Here, then, are some of my favourites that he missed out! It's all in a spoiler box, because UT really is a dish best served unspoiled.
Nontendo Music Period No. Whatever - Mt. Ebott Backwards
Undertale Redux
Spoiled the hell out of this game within, pictures and everything:
5. Another Medium
One of the most brilliant lava pieces I've ever heard. Up there with the Galaxy tunes, despite being completely different. The piece I play when I need to be filled with... MOTIVATION.
4. Bonetrousle
Simple, catchy, brilliant, and eminently remixable. Here's a 'Russian' version, and here's a Jewish one.
3. His Theme
Hey, you were warned. This boss fight isn't a fight: it's a mission of salvation. One that, ultimately, you can't complete. But you can give it your best shot. And you do.
2. Undertale
This made me all emotional even more than the above. Even before I knew all the story that went with it. Because it's beautiful.
1. Spear of Justice
This is it! The most humworthy song in the entire game! It's a bit repetitive, but it's gloriously catchy and good. I really like Undyne, and that's certainly partly because of her music. She, and it, are great.

There's the Phoenix Down this thread was needing. I was planning on reviving this thread once I'd beaten Persona 5, but that'll do nicely.
Your number one pick is actually my favourite track in the game now. So catchy! I've also grown quite fond of "Finale", with all of its bombast and triumph.

Finale's not bad, indeed it too has jammed in my head of late, but it has quite a short loop meaning there's not actually that much to it. (As does my number 3 I suppose, but Finale didn't make me go mushy...)
And here's a brilliant remix of that number 1 from the same chap who did Boneklezmer. Highly recommended.

The Undertale tune I could never dislodge from my head was Spider Dance. Perhaps it was simply the excessive number of times I had to attempt this boss (I'd not bought any cake, you see.) There are multiple metal covers, and naturally a Smoothe McGroove version, but the only live interpretation that does it for me is this violin cover.
