| Huh. Apparently I never posted Poliwag. Enjoy, I guess.
So. My current visa ends on February 1st. Work are trying some schemes and tricks to try and arrange for me to stay, but theres a real chance I'll be facing some upheaval throughout next month, heading to Arizona for a couple of weeks, then moving back to the UK and working on getting a management position in wagamama and moving to Scotland.
To that end, I'm trying to get ahead with the show just in case. If you habe anything to say about the Abra, Machop, Bellsprout, Tentacool, Geodude, Ponyta, Slowpoke or Magnemite families, try to get in touch in the next couple of weeks.
In other news, I'm taking part in the United Pokemon Podcasters League. This is my first run-in with competitive Pokemon and I woke up at 3am this morning to take part in a draft. I'm not planning to take it super seriously but it should lead to some amusing #content and help expand my audience. Check out the twitter and that if you want. Most of you don't even follow and retweet this show . . .

| That's a lot to take in, I guess the preferred thing is to stay in Japan and from vids of others on YouTube I thought if you're working etc then you had a good possibility of staying is that not the case then.
The link doesn't work and as it's a draft guessing it's TTCG? |

| Nah, visas in Japan are a ballache unless you have a degree and/ or 3 years experience in your field.
The link wasn't working because I spelled it wrong. Fixed it now!
And no, the league is VGC, the draft is just to keep it spicy and make everyone use unconventional mixes of monsters. |

| Abra
This might have been my best episode yet but I'm coming down with a cold so my voice is horrible. |

| GNamer always follows and retweets this show! Abra episode was pretty cool, especially the background bit at the beginning. I never knew about the sudden disappearance of Kadabra! Sadly I couldn't hear Mr. Rice this time around. - Bellsprout:
I always felt a bit fobbed off by Bellsprout. While Pokémon Red owners got cute lil Oddish, Blue owners got... this. A twig. A twig that then evolved into Dopey McDopeface. Fortunately Victreebel's a cool mean pitcher plant, so that redeemed things slightly. Mostly associated for me with memories of the Pokémon Stadium announcer saying, 'Cut it down to size!' as mine hacked away at some unfortunate. I can't help but feel it should have got a Grass/Dark counterpart to Bellossom a generation or two later...
- Tentacool:
The Zubat of the sea, I think I'd have more time for Tentas Cool and Cruel if I hadn't seen literally a bajillion of them between Fuschia City and Cinnabar Island. Fortunately you can avoid them in Let's Go, and they're about the only good place to get Courage Candy, so I'm reconciled to the original jellies now.
- Geodude:
I still don't get how Graveler went to Golem. What happened to the other two arms? Anyway, I'm mostly just commenting to note the majesty of Alolem, as I call it. It has a railgun on its back and some fine fine facial hair. What a champ.
Don't have much to say about the others. I'm sorry you're having to come back, Drunka. At least you'll be slightly closer to Shen? |

| I'm pretty happy either way to be honest, I just want to know for sure and then me and Shen can make proper plans. I'll for sure be seeing her next month one way or another so Im too excited about that to be worried about anything else.
I have some speculation which might interest you when we get to Graveler . . . |

| I've got a lot of nostalgia for Victreebel. Also, at the idea that Machoke ripped off Graveler's weedy little rock arms in passing, stuck them on its shoulders, and grew them into muscular titans. |

Balla, I don't think people are suggesting he physically ripped them off I picture it more like Jeff Goldblum in the fly. |

| I picked up the recently released Eevee GX box and a Team-Up Elite Trainer box (I may continue back collecting), I did pull a Secret Rare Hoopa-GX which seems to be worth £15, I didn't get the Mas and Drunka card which is an Eevee and Snorlax Team Up card.
Because I got all this I had a bunch of codes for the online game which I've managed to make a weird Dark/Grass deck which is playable in standard and so far I've played 5 games which I've won 3 and lost 2. |

| Magnemite I'm out of pre-recorded podcasts again now, and as it happens I didn't have to move across the planet again so there was no reason to rush a whole bunch of episodes. Anyway, let me know your thoughts about Farfetch'd and I'll definitely remember to use them this time |

| Er, I forgot. Sorry. If you still have time: - Farfetch'd:
a.k.a. the Lol-calisation Pokémon. Looking it up, this is the Pokémon equivalent of that Phoenix Wright case about rakugo and noddle dough. Ironically though, Farfetch'd may be surprising, but it's no longer convenient: the Spearow you used to trade for it ends up being a better 'Mon! I feel for the poor bird, and wish it had got its evolution from the Spaceworld beta.
I've been on annual leave so I haven't listened to any podcasts. I'll get to the Maggies next week! |

| One of Andy's best yet. Also, I've got something that I think will be very much 'on brand' for Luke: - Doduo:
Doduo looks like some hideous mutated game bird, brought about by Tory landowners selectively breeding for the perfect live target. Fortunately its secretary bird big brother... brothers? then comes along and sorts them out. Still, though, poor Doduo. I can't help thinking of one head wanting to run one way, one the other, and the whole Pokémon splitting down the middle. Brr.

| Dewgong's cute though.
Grimer and Muk are, I'm afraid, one of the top answers to people who say that designs have got worse over time. Especially Grimer: Muk seems to have a dopey sort of attitude to it, but Grimer's just an animated pile of sludge. Their oil-on-water-rainbow Alolan forms are cool, but where the base forms are concerned, I prefer Trubbish. I genuinely do. |
