Katamari has always appealed to me, in that it's one of those weird and lovable games that I suspect NGamer magazine (god rest its soul) would have been all over had it ever come to a Nintendo console. So assuming Reroll doesn't cost one million pounds, I'll probably buy it!

Somehow Balla missed a thread of the biggest game from the Direct...
Mas wasn't wrong. This is one of the games I've always looked at in envy from my Nintendonly position, so time permitting I'll surely be picking it up.

I briefly played the PS3 one (I really hate the PS3 DualShock controller; I genuinely think that's why I stopped playing), but I wish I'd persevered for the crazy bits. Almost definitely getting this one!

Drunka pinged this my way on Facebook, and I said it's the best thing I'd see all day. I was right.

This is oot noo, with a demo to boot. I've tried it out and haven't quite clicked with the controls, but I love everything else about it.

I finished this last night! It's short but sweet, I can see myself going back to replay many of the levels.
It's good! Katamari Damacy never made it to Europe, but its sequel did (thanks to EA, of all publishers!). I think We Love Katamari is probably the better of the two, but Katamari Damacy is more focused - all the levels take place in the same world, and the message at the end is a good, and fitting one.
The port could be better, it seems more sluggish than it looks on PS2 when things get busy, and it might be because developer MONKEYCRAFT ported the game to a different engine, one that isn't known for great performance (Unity).
But still, for £16 it's well worth it, and for once a publisher is passing on digital-only cost savings to us. Despite the game being the same worldwide (it shows up as purchased for me on the Japanese eShop) it's cheapest in Europe due to no boxed release. It's $30 in America and about £25 in Japan.

I picked up a Japanese copy of the original on PS2 and it kind of highlighted some of the drawbacks of the port which were at the back of my mind when I was originally playing it, but I also thought maybe it was always like that:
- The load times are super long - about three times as long as the PS2 game loading from an old DVD. I suspect this is because this new version is running on Unity engine now. - There's noticeable input lag to the controls, and it definitely makes it harder to pull off that move where you jiggle both analogue sticks in opposing directions to speed up. On Switch it doesn't feel as reliable as on the ol' PS2.
Given the original PS2 release never came out in Europe I can only recommend ReRoll. It's a faithful enough port - but it's sloppily programmed.
