| Now that all the excitement has settled & that mas has put everything in one place to look at it's a bit sad that the thing I'm excited for the most is a remake of a 2009 game. (I'd probably even feel the same even if I had played the original DeS) Don't get me wrong a lot of good stuff was shown off as I can see myself playing and enjoying things like Deathloop, Godfall, Kena: Bridge of spirits, little devil inside, Resi 8, Returnal (man that name is shit) & Ghostwire but none of those are the type of game you buy a brand new £500 - £600+ console for.
Anyhow, I'll probably eat my own words if Ps5 launches with Demon's Souls and I end up with that and maybe 2 others from the list I mentioned above. |

I tend sort of agree, Miles Morales is a bit of a system seller for me as I enjoyed Spider-Man but Horizon Zero Dawn is one of my favourite games of this generation that a sequel does sell me on a PS5 but that could be a November 2021 game, so I could wait a year. But and I'm going to discount games on PS4 as that's also an argument against the Series X can see me picking up Horizon Forbidden West Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Demon’s Souls, I imported this on PS3 and got further than most of you would think which still isn't far but with some QoL improvements and depending on when it comes out could be for me Sackboy A Big AdventureReturnalAstro’s Playroom (Preloaded on PS5), Even if it wasn't coming with PS5 I think I would get as it will show of the controller & 3D audio plus Astrobot on PSVR is great that feels like your tech demo sort of game like how Switch has 1-2-Switch Project AthiaStray Ghostwire: Tokyo Deathloop Godfall, if others were getting, and we were going to play online Resident Evil VIIIage Pragmata The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Starfield, I guess also Elder Scrolls VI as both of these games from Bethesda are next gen but could be a way off That's a decent batch of games with one system seller for me and I think that's enough |

| Brief real talk about the PS5: I said several times when the Switch was new in 2018 that every console I can remember has had one duff year in its first two. From what I've seen, it looks like 2020 might be the PS5's duff year. There looked to be a lot of (theoretically) interesting stuff shown there, almost all of which was aimed at 2021 or later. |

| If 2020 is the duff year which it could be as could see only Spider-Man as THE game but that's what 3 months on the market if PS5 was to come out in late October.

| There's genuinely nothing at launch that is must-buy for me. Spider-Man will be good, but it's something I can easily wait for. I'll definitely be waiting for a price-drop I reckon, especially if the rumours of the console being pretty expensive are anything to go by. |

| I put out tweet this morning which got a lot of likes etc with my prediction on price
PS5 Digital £399, this is the price you'll see on TV adverts saying PS5 from £399 and make it look like a good deal
PS5 Standard £479 (Amazon have had it up at £500), will only be this price because
Xbox Series X £499, will be the most expensive but MS will push the value message of you've not had an Xbox One well this comes with 3 months Game Pass Ultimate and you can access 200+ games including Halo Infinite, Forza Motorsport 8 OR if you're like me then it be you'll have access to your 400+ games with multiple getting Series X enhancements thanks to smart delivery
There is this 4th option which Xbox Lockhart the original rumours were it's a 4TF Xbox Series S which makes it level powerful than the current Xbox One X but it has other bits improved meaning it can get more out of less power but recent rumours seem to point to it's not what you think it will be, that I'm personally thinking it's a streaming box much like a Chromecast for Stadia but with Xbox branding and games.
As even though I could see an Xbox Series S which is less powerful than the Series X but can only play games at 1080p etc which might be fine for you if you've not got a 4KTV but can run next only games like Res Evil 8, the problem I see is MS have marketed the Series X heavily already and other companies like Capcom are putting the Series X & PS5 logo at the end of the RE8 trailer all will have to now go and do all that again with what 5 months to launch. |

| We have boxart for both the systems, first is PS5 which will look like this Kinda similar but you can tell it's for the new console Then for Xbox it's like this depending on the game So these are all Xbox games, Watch Dogs Legion if played on a Series X it's optimized and will have ray tracing etc, the middle NBA is playable on both gens of Xbox but won't be optimized for Series X it just be like it would be on One X, then the NBA on the end is just for Series X and will be optimized for the console Of course some PS4 games like Watch Dogs Legion will work on PS5 as a PS5 game with ray tracing etc but the font of the box art least doesn't seem to show that, just says PS4, that I'm guessing it will be on the back on the box like how the PS4 Pro logo at the moment. |

| Triple Post as a lot of Xbox news this week 1. We have a rough date for the Series X of November (6th it seems, thanks to the controller) which I think most of us thought anyway with the vague holiday 2020 2. The controller is out in the wild thanks to best buy, I like the new slight roundness at the top The bigger news is the packing says it works with the Series S the much rumoured cheaper 1080p next gen Xbox 3. Xbox has a thing called 20/20 happening this year which was to have some sort of news each month till the end of the 2020, this is no longer happening 4. Halo Infinite has been delayed till 2021, which means the Series X has no Xbox Game Studio games at launch beyond things like Forza Horizon 4 now running at 4K 60FPS. Halo Infinite will be better for the delay and is cross-gen but still like the Wii or Switch losing Zelda, as it helped with the excitement of the new system be it on the go Zelda or Halo with Ray Tracing instead of what could be done on Wii U or Xbox One. I was planning to get both systems this year and play likes of Halo on the XSX via Game Pass and buy stuff such as Madden on it but now with lack of Halo even though Game Pass is great, I can't see me going back to Forza Horizon 4 and not sure the 2020 Game Pass games like As Dusk Falls or Tetris Effect are going push the Series X further than my One X. That yeah its cool Madden will look best on Xbox Series X but Madden on PS5 will still look better than it does on my Xbox One X, so I think I will just be getting a PS5 this year buying 3rd party games on that and using the One X as the Game Pass box to play As Dusk Falls or Tetris Effect. Then when Halo Infinite comes out or something that pushes the Series X, I'll get one and if MS have sense a 20th anniversary Halo Edition Series X next year would be sweet. |

| I've not really paid attention to the XBox Series X, but even I could see that it needed that push and "excitement" from a polished and complete new Halo game. Is there anything they can feasibly do to offset that disappointment? |

| Not really all the game's from the studio's they have seem to be a way out. Maybe could see if they could get Assassin's Creed Valhalla or something into Game Pass at launch.
Otherwise it's value and power, along with backwards compatibility going back to OG Xbox. Like if the Series S is £200 like rumors that's super cheap especially if you've missed the Xbox One. The Series X is now rumoured to be £400, which seems it undercut the PS5, that they market best place to play Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Cyberpunk is on Series X but that's about it.
As someone that has a One X and can play everything on that, the Series X very much now to me is do I want that new graphics card for a PC gamer. I personally don't think it's worth it. |

| Out of nowhere we have a price for the Series S, yeah not the Series X or PS5's the ones talked about for months but the much rumoured Series S which is now official The Series S is £250 that's official but the leaked video shows it and the Series X which be £450 will launch November 10th Xbox might not have any big games launching anytime but they do have the value with the Series S and the power with the Series X |

| Even without a disc drive, that's stonking value for what'll basically be an all-in-one entertainment box.
I'd probably just use it to play Banjo-Kazooie and watch Still Game though, and my internet it too rubbish to even consider it. Still, that £250 price point must be massively enticing for those who were on the fence about Series X. |

| It's amazing value like tie that with Game Pass then a lot of people will consider the all digital aspects.
Personally I still buy physical like Tony Hawk and I've got an okay sized OG Xbox & 360 physical collection that I wouldn't be able to play on the Series S.
The other one for me is Series S is the 1440p system and Series X is the 2160p system but that's not the whole story as that's just resolution, thing's like textures is what I'm interested to see the difference between Series S and X on why the Series X is £450 or £200 more

| I'm kind of tempted by the idea of a Series S (albeit prrrobably not at launch) because it's so much more affordable. £250 and then a monthly subscription the same price as Netflix sounds pretty good to me... |

| I'm pretty tempted by the Series S myself now, as someone who still has an OG Xbox One it's a significant step up and I can see this as a decent companion to the PS5. |

| I did think that Andy or even other way get a Series X and digital PS5 but lot of what I will play on PS5 will be likes of Miles Morales, Rachet which I will finish then trade in which can't do digitally. |

| That's a very tempting offer, as much I don't want an all digital console I could make an exception for something that'll let me use Game Pass and give me access to Xbox exclusives, Microsoft have played a blinder here. |

| I never considered the opposite way around if not purely from a backwards compatability perspective. I'd lose Forza Horizon 2 & 3 on Xbox. I lose almost every game that's been released on PS4 the other way round |

| Yeah I even kept a bunch of PS4 games and got even more digital, that option is out the window really.
I think I'm a weird place to most of you having the One X that Series S isn't really a upgrade yet it is because games like The Medium will be on it but so far that's it.
Why my original plan was wait till more Series only games or a big Xbox game like Halo which I will want all the bells and whistles, which Series X still. |

| Everything now been confirmed by Xbox like prices, dates etc including the official the finance which comes with Game Pass as well as the console
On Game Pass, EA Play aka EA Access will be added to Game Pass meaning FIFA is part of Game Pass now which is decent for the £11 a month |

| I guess there's a question about how much storage will cost? Still, there's no doubt Microsoft have played a blinder with this one. I guess £449 for the X is about what people would've expected too.
Still got the stupidest naming scheme since the Wii U though. (I know that wasn't too long ago, shush.) |

| What's the general consensus about how futureproof the Series S is? That would be my primary concern about getting one. Even though I rarely boot up old consoles, at least I know I can play all the physical games I have for them. |
