| We come to May's games which a better month then I thought it would be after the two PS4 and two Xbox One games got delayed thought some more would be. As I follow a few people that talk game salezzz with games as whole doing well with Animal Crossing tracking to do over 20m for instance but physical seems to be taking a dip for likes of Animal Crossing, Final Fantasy and Resident Evil the argument could be made that digital would be selling less if physical were available but people do want these games physical as FFVIIR is going for $100+ sealed on eBay at the moment in the states and in the UK around £55 for a used copy. That you can understand Sony delaying Last of Us 2 due to production as that along with the three games I talked about I could see people picking up from their local GAME which they can't do and this is no knock on the games coming out this month but even the biggest game isn't one that I see having a huge pick up on a whim demand from GAME, it does feel like people who would want it would just order from Amazon. Retail Games of May- Spoiler:
1st Arcade Spirits PS4, NS Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers NS Code: Realize Future Blessings NS Daymare: 1998 PS4 Degrees of Separation NS Torchlight 2 PS4, ONE
8th Construction Machines Simulator NS
15th Bibi & Tina: Adventures with Horses PS4, NS Bibi & Tina at the Horse Farm PS4, NS Shmup Collection By Astroport NS, WiiU Super Kickers League Ultimate PS4, NS

29th Adam's Venture Origin NS BioShock: The Collection NS Borderlands Legendary Collection NS Dungeon of the Endless PS4, NS Ion Fury PS4, NS, PC Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls in A Dungeon? Infinite Combate PS4, NS Spirit of The North PS4, NS Truck & Logistics Simulator NS Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen PS4 Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition NS
31st Skybolt Zack NS TT Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge 2 NS
My Thoughts: Basically it's only Xenoblade which is close to a must-buy along with it being the biggest game of the month. However, I have said elsewhere I'm unsure about it as I'm just coming off Final Fantasy and got Sakura Wars coming any day now (along with P5R to go back to) that I might be RPG'ed out (I feel Balla might get this at the moment from his Switch backlog posts) but is a month gap between SW and XCDE.
A few other things do catch my eye which are Arcade Spirits which is a dating game I think in the same way as Dream Daddy etc but it's £30 physical and £20 digital which is just too much for what it is and the same goes for Maneater which looks like a lot of fun in an Untitled Goose, Donut County etc sort of way but not for £35, I'm hoping it's less digital.
Only other thing is the Evercade games which do interest me if I get an Evercade, how my pay drops the Evecade would be in this month's pay and the only thing that is which makes it more likely to be bought (Xenoblade is in the months after pay).
Ohh I guess W101 Remaster would be of some note, just I played on Wii U and I think a lot off us did maybe this is one for Jay?
Best of the Rest- Spoiler:
7th Fledgeling Heroes eShop
8th Fury Unleashed eShop, XBL Megabyte Punch eShop
11th JoJo Rabbit 4K, Blu, DVD
12th Jet Lancer eShop
15th Railway Empire eShop
18th 1917 4K, Blu, DVD
19th Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus eShop
22nd Evercade All-In Edition Evercade Premium Pack Evercade Starter Pack
26th Bad Boys for Life 4, Blu, DVD Minecraft Dungeons eShop, XBL Xbox One Arctic Camo Controller
27th Ninjala eShop Spies in Disguise 4K, Blu, DVD
29th XCOM 2 Collection eShop
My Thoughts:
Film-wise I do want to see JoJo and 1917, I'll likely rent on Xbox or something.
Games it's Minecraft Dungeons which is on Game Pass that I'm going to give it a go, it won't have cross-play at launch if any of you get in on Switch or PS4 (Not listed on PSN but is coming same day) and want to play. Ninjala might also be worth having look as it's a f2p copy of Splatoon basically, which Nintendo highlighted themselves in a direct.
You may have noticed XCOM 2 is listed under eShop not physical as even though the direct announced all the 2K games coming same-day physical (I think it might be a card in a box anyway) and even Nintendo lists it out physical on the 29th, I just can't find it anywhere to buy it physically though.
Then it's the Evercade which I do like the concept of sort of Mini console but you pick the games you want and it seems to be reviewing well enough, just the games quality could be questioned and how successful does it need to be to get more than what's coming at launch and the two announced collections out later this year? I feel if I do get I'll go for the All-In bundle with 9 of the 10 the games for £150 as the games retail for £15 each anyway, that console is what £15 as well or are the games £10 each instead depending on how you look at it, either way, it's a £30 saving over buying it all individually for £180.
What about you guys? |

| Wasn't Ion Fury the game with the controversy around the devs? Did you miss TW101 on Wii U or just wanting to go back? |

Yeah their PR was a mess over a homophobic slur that was on an item in game but has since been removed according to this article. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-08-26-ion-fury-to-retain-homophobia-in-game-after-all ---- I did play TW101 on wii U but I feel I didn't give it a fair shot before I stopped playing it. |

| Still seems a dodgy company to be supporting. I will be buying nothing this month. I wish it had been long enough since I last played Xenoblade for me to pick it up again: it hasn't. Then again, I didn't think I'd be playing Animal Crossing... |

| I totally get what you's are saying but think how many folk are attached to dev teams these days and now think how many people on each of those teams are bottom of barrel arseholes such as the homophobic one on the Ion fury team. Should I really not buy a game I think looks good just because of one out of those fifty people are ignorant?
If it was one person who made this game then sure it'd be easy to not buy, but here I can easily separate it because it isn't just one person who made this game. |

| I will attempt to purchase Animal Crossing a second time I think, given how much time I've spent playing it already. That's it for me this month! I was sort of interested in the new Xenoblade, but a mate of mine was describing his frustration at the weird mechanics while playing XC2, and that was like "I'm out". *continues to play Breath of Fire on SNES. |

You're not wrong, as I know it's rather different but me with Konami and you must know for instance how Jim Sterling feels about them but he did do a video where he was like it's not everyone at Konami makes the decisions and unfair on who worked on the Castlevania Collection (it was something like this) as they would likely having nothing to do with the shite Konami does do. Just reading that article and what I do know, it seemed a bit of mess the whole handling even if just one guy on the dev team put it in and I will be passing. |

| This is a much better month than it has any right to be, will probably get Xenoblade as it's time I gave that a try but probably nothing else. Will get Wonderful 101 at some point but I'm in no rush to play it. |

| I should probably finish Xenbobob 2 before I pick up the first for a third time; I’m hoping I can talk Matty into playing it though, as he never has.
I want to pick up Wonderful 101 eventually, but I haven’t even re-bought Bayonetta for the Switch yet.
Ion Fury can fuck off though. It seems like way more than one bad actor to me, that studio is rotten to the core. But whatever, there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism.

| Yep, that's my feeling - it doesn't feel like one bad apple (like, say, JonTron in A Hat in Time), it feels like the company direction. That article you posted, Jas: it doesn't feel like the second bit, where they keep the 'Ogay' jab in because (screechy voice) 'free speech', is the work of one man. It feels like they got other people in the company in to help make that decision, and what they finished up with panders to a rather unpleasant crowd. The donation to the Trevor Project is nice but feels like tokenism to appease. - Buskalilly wrote:

No completely ethical consumption maybe, but there are different degrees. Anyway, Nintendo use conflict minerals in their machines so Not sure what degree that is. Perhaps buy the game but also make a donation to LGBT charities, like the company did? |

| Pretty sure it's impossible to ensure you avoid conflict minerals in tech production

| I'm not going to update the list every time something changes but seemingly starting as Sodessco (something like that) are delaying two of their games physically because of production issues but will come out digitally, SEGA announced though a Hatsune Miku game coming to the eShop.
Nintendo Life also put a article up talking to devs about things going on and just seen that Baluders Gate 3 will be put back a bit because of what's happening. |
