Big chinese money!

This could be fun!

I played some LOL with friends and it was good, the problem is the high difficulty curve and long match times in conjunction with a community that can be quite toxic. I'll definitely give this a go at some point. Not expecting it to be amazing, but it might be alright.

I'm not a MOBA fan in the least so I'll not be checking this one out at all, but I'm sure this will marketed to high heaven and do very well for TPC considering Tencent's tendrils are crawling all over this.

I've never tried a MOBA but I've tried most of the free-to-play Pokemon gumph. Didn't really click with the Cafe thing that's just been released but maybe this'll tickle my pickle a bit more.

I liked what I played of HotS, my issue was that part from the Overwatch characters I didn't really know who anyone was, where this I do.

Now I guess you could argue at the time I didn't know anyone in Overwatch when I played that for the first time but that was in a genre I know and seemed decent lore around them.

This is the sort of thing I'd like to have a go at if Tencent weren't involved, and will have no qualms about leaving alone given they are. 'Tendrils' indeed.

I don't know so much myself - after your Google you'll probably know more than me. They're a big old Chinese company that now seems to have a stake in most things in the industry and toes the Communist Party line rigidly.

Tencent are bad news, but not really much more so than any company that big. Chinese money is so huge that even Western companies are huge pussies about doing anything to upset the party.

I said the same in the TOH Discord, Buska and where do you draw the line of what's bad and what's bad bad.

I struggle to answer that every day. With Pokémon Unite, my solution is that I won't put any money into it, but that's usually my approach to free games anyway and I don't really have much interest in a MOBA.

With generic big business evils, we as consumers can't really vote with our wallets. Everyone's at it, change needs to come from government, which needs replacing through actual revolution.

If there's something especially egregious - a big game studio practicing crunch, an indie team outing themselves as assholes - there are other options I can buy which aren't doing that, so I do avoid those purchases. I will never pay money for Red Dead 2, The Last of Us 2 or ION Fury, and I won't go to any business on Christmas Day or Boxing Day in the UK. I won't listen to Chris Brown or pay money for anything JK Rowling puts out; there are lots of other entertainment options which are more ethical.

It's about seeing what you can do and at least doing that much.

Tencent and there many pies aside, and it's a lot of pies.

What's happened to this, I know the mobile beta has happened and even predicted this would be the it's now game from E3 (who would have thought Strange Brigade) but nothing.

Nah seriously though mate at work was even playing mobile BETA, that seemed close and I might have been right just not at E3 itself.

So July for Switch, think September for Mobile. Little surprised that way around, as like I said above Mobile BETA has happened.

Yeah, but Switch is just one machine to get it working on, mobiles are a whole bunch.

Also mobile gaming sucks arse. That trailer looks fantastic, sadly that isn't gonna be anywhere near representative of the final game. I'll give it a try anyway, never played a moba but it looks like the kind of thing I could get in to.

My mate Matty has gotten really into it and he's been begging the rest of us at work to download it.

I'm liking it myself, the Mrs is hooked on it so been playing a few games with her so that'll likely keep me coming back, not sure I could get in to it long term as I don't really fully get what's going on sometimes and I'm not one to worry about the meta or anything like that which I feel is probably relevant.

I've been mainly using Slowbro and Cinderace at the minute, quite like the ranged attacks and Slowbro is almost a default for me as everyone else goes for the attackers so I try to balance it with some defence. Well worth a download I'd say anyway, it's free after all, that being said I was tempted to get the battle pass for Pirate Costume Cinderace but it's right at the end of the pass so that's saved me some pennies knowing I probably wouldn't even get it.

I think it's decent, like the flashy presentation, game is pretty fun though I can't see myself sticking with it.

Anyone else think the menu music sounds just like It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Andy Williams?

The mobile game stuff around the edges gets on my tits, the gameplay is a little dull but its over quickly and I always win because the children don't understand.

If I get a nice session or two with a full team of pals that'd be swell.
