Currently sitting at joint-first in our Nontendo Game of 2021 votes, have you played it? Have you been subjected to so many square grids in social media that they've killed any pleasure you might have got out of it? Both?

I've been enjoying it, and anyone being a grumpy gus about seeing people sharing their results with a quaint little word puzzle rather than what we ususally see on social media is not worth associating with.
The odd part for me is that it ticks over to midnight here when I think its still 3pm for you, so I feel like I'm posting from the future if I do it befor I go to sleep instead of when i wake up.

I’m not really seeing a lot of that grumpiness. It looks like people are generally just being left to enjoy it.
Not much to say about Wordle otherwise. Having fun with it, but my and everybody else’s interest will probably peter out over the next couple of months. Oh, and I’ve played 16 and won 16.

I haven't seen any actual grumpiness to be fair, just people being grumpy about the grumpiness. Maybe it doesn't exist and twitter has created a completely false problem to be angry about again?

I was enjoying it enough, but I struggle to fit it into the day effectively and losing my streak by not playing kind of puts me off

I've definitely seen some negativity. I've got to admit, I've felt some negativity. Facebook shows me about 2% of everything that's being posted by my friends (can't show too much or where would the adverts go???): when half of that is World grids that's not ideal.
Still enjoying the game though. What are people's choices of starting words? I tend to open with 'tones'.

Surely that's better than what people usually post on facebook though? I don't use facebook at all these days, and try not to use twitter, but if I had to subject myself to that void I'd rather see lots of people enjoying a word game than constant abject horror either being lamented or perpetrated.

"Raise" for me, nice mix of common letters. Served me well today - got the word on my second guess!
Spoiler:
The word was "robot", which is of course what I'd guess if all I knew was "it starts with r and doesn't have a, i, s or e"

I start with "bread", gets you a couple of vowels, job done.

Does everybody get the same wordle each day, or does it just let you play it once per day?

I start with the word SKATE, because Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3.

Apparently it's not rude in America. I hope they do 'nonce', that completely innocent cryptocurrency term.

Everyone always has the same word, that's why it's a daily thing.
Prick is a little rude in America - there's a joke to that effect in Iron Man 2 - but it has an innocent meaning too.

I clutched my pearls when the word was 'prick', and then the next day my first guess was 'minge'. Which it accepted!

I've had a couple of jammy 2 or 3-guessers recently, but today was tough. I had a complete grey followed by a single yellow!

I did this, but resentfully, and feels like it takes away the simple fun of a Wordle. This house does not stand for Doubordle.

I probably agree. It was nice as a diversion though.

Six for me this time, bastard hard word. Whoever thought up this one should be shot, although nobody will agree on from where.

Are people still playing this?
I dabble every now and then but I don't hear much about this anymore apart from the nyt making changes people dislike.

I've actually only missed one Wordle since I started!
The NYT thing is interesting, because nothing has changed but if people found the words after the change easier/ more difficult they blame the switchover in ownership.
I still usually do it just before I go to sleep or just after I wake up. It's taking the place which scrolling social media might have held in my routine, and it is a lot healthier.

Yeah, I saw an interesting thread about people saying it got harder when NYT took over, even though the only changes it made were to remove words it thought were potentially too hard (agora) or offensive (lynch) - mainly because a lot of people don't like NYT already. Conspiracy theories, innit.
I still play it every day! 50 day streak!

Agora's fine, caulk can shove off though.
I still play it every day too! Although my streak was broken recently: I had SHA_E from guess three, and it was none of my guesses for that letter. I also play Dordle most days, despite what I've said above. Pro tip: 'ADIEU STORY' covers all six vowels and has no overlapping letters. Or you can go 'SOARE NIGHT LUMPY' for the extreme version.
