| It'll probably be fine playing LA before its remake in September - I think it'll be novel noticing how they've remade the sprites into cute claymotion models.
I wonder if they'll have some of the weirder references and cameos in there like Prince Richard? |

| I think it would be stranger if they replaced him as he is quite a major character and necessary to progress. I did notice that they changed the dialogue when getting the yoshi doll, which is cute |

Because not everybody loves it as much as you. I'm certain that playing the same story beats again twice would override any sense of newness from the art style for me. You do you, boss! |

| I didn't think LA was a game that rode on its story, though. The appeal of that game comes from its world and the gameplay, surely? |

The story is very impactful, but it's light, so yes it's mainly the dungeons and exploring the island in general that's the appeal. |

| Silly question how does the camera thing work in LA, as surely can't have game and the camera both in the cartridges at the same time. |

| I guess you need two games boys and a link cable?
Or is it just an in game camera that you link to the printer?

| There are "photos" that you unlock through the game when you do optional things. You could print them off with the Game Boy Printer.

Why the bobbins did I say 'story'... I meant world and sense of exploration more than anything else to be honest. All of the beats will be fresh in your mind, none as surprising. You might get some thrills out of seeing places brought to life, but I can't imagine they'd be anywhere as close to the wonder of going into it fresh, or relatively so. |

| I get you now. I suppose if you've already played the original, there'd be no harm in revisiting it to keep the world fresh in your mind and to see how they've updated it for the remake. |

| It'd be worth it for the reactions alone. I'm just not a fan of swearing, and I'd rather save my swears for when they'll have most impact! See: Gracklecast. Also I recently did swear in a thread title... |

Are you trying to pass off "bugger" as real swearing? - shanks wrote:

| Sewing machine component apparently. Whatever, I like the word. Not sure if that or 'gubbins' or 'cripes' is my favourite non-swear. |

| Right you fine bunch of people with excellent taste! Have any of you played the 3DS port of Xenoblade? I have it lying around and I'm thinking about playing it after FE Echoes to save myself some money on buying something for the Switch! I'm sure it's ugly as sin but that aside does it play well? Cheers! |

| Yep I have it, in fact it's the only version of the game I've played. It runs well and I never had any problems with anything in it (never finished it but played a good 20 hours I think).
It is New 3DS only though I think |

| Awesome news! I do have a new 3ds so I'll give it a try! I look forward to the glorious British accents |

| I would still recommend getting the Wii version if you can (is it one of those hideously expensive titles?) for that very reason: you can switch to Japanese voice acting and that was a godsend.
Still worth playing either way then! I got quite attached to the English VA cast for XC2, and am still sad that they patched out 'DON FERGET ME!' |

| It is grossly expensive on Wii BUT its on the Wii U virtual console for £18 with the added bonus of off TV play and using the gamepad for primary controls |

| It's dropped loads over the years, you get for £25 if you really wanted it on disc over digital version on WiiU. |

Cheers! I've played a fair chunk of it, yeah. It's perfectly fine but I do feel the graphical downgrades and the fact you're playing it on a smaller screen do hamper the game somewhat. People always talk about the scale of Xenoblade being a big plus point for the game and that element of the game doesn't really translate to 3DS. Still, it does the job if you've no other clear way to play the game. |

| Thanks! That's really the info I needed tbh. I'll get the Wii U Virtual Console version as that seems to be the best option |

| That's likely the right choice! I'd have done the same myself if I had a Wii U or knew where my Wii was. |
