| Nothing I dislike, just don't feel that compulsion to play. Prob cos there's no story mode. What's the best mode to start with? |

| I kinda went for everything at once, but that's because I'm crazy about Smash. Otherwise, I'd say Classic for the more "arcade-y" feel, or the Events for a bit of variety and a crash-course at using various characters.
I ought to go back to HW. For now, I'm not playing much on the Wii U - a bit of Alphadia Genesis when I feel obliged to. |

| Finally completed Wind Waker HD and Wonderful 101 this week, so I'm back on Smash. Liking the Events mode best so far. The game is so damn hard though, I've really not got the hang of the controls yet. |

| Blimey! Wind Waker and Wonderful 101 are on my to do list, so it's an impressive double whammy. At the moment I'm in what I call an audition phase: there's no one game on the Wii U that has gotten its claws into me, so I've just played a bit of DKC3, Xenoblade Chronicles and Citizens Of Earth until something stuck. Turns out it's DKC3. |

Certainly is, I've had them both since they came out... about two years, so it was about time I finished them! |

| Prematurely, I'm now fearing, I've made it to the Zero Suit section of the game. It's a real and massive change from the rest of the game and I struggled with it. Next time, though, next time... |

| I'm playing "reload the Stars Catalogue page" on the Browser at the mo. I'm not doing very well All the games put up on there seems to have attracted everyone in Europe to visit the site. |

| Those of you who follow me on twitter will know that I've started Metroid Zero Mission, since the first is my least played of the series due to the controls of the NES version not being that fun to deal with (in comparison to Super Metroid at least) I'm really glad this version exists. (I can't believe it took me this long to get it) My mini adventureAs I got to Norfair I decided to ignore the point of interest blip on the map and head to the left to explore a bit, making my way through a long room I used the morph ball to get through a gap and then immediately realised there was no way for me to back track. Uh oh! So I continued forward hoping to find a way back, in the next area I found a lift to Crateria picking up a few missile expansions along the way bringing my total to 50 but I was still figuring out how to get back to Norfair to continue my progress & it only got worse when I entered the chozo ruins and collected an unknown item that my suit can't use yet. I was then caught by one of those fall away blocks & into a big pit I went, again I thought I was stuck but I could morph ball bomb the left wall which lead me to the power grip item that let's me cling to ledges (so handy *ahem*) so I clambered my way back up a newly formed tower then continued left a little bit then I seen the glorious gun ship. - Spoiler:
I returned to the secondary lift to Norfair and used the power grip to squeeze back through the morph ball gap and I was back to where I was. --- The design of these games is really quite something else as other games would either not allow you to progress in that direction I did or you'd be properly stuck and have to reload your last save. Top stuff! |

| I've got to admit that I've also avoided Zero Mission due to the fact that I initially went for the original NES version on the Virtual Console. I got frustrated trying to do the last "shooting mother brain in the face" bit, but that was due to the NES game slowing down with all the crazy shit on the screen. (So it would be logical for me to try Zero Mission, but I still remember the original too well)
However, I have at long last started Shovel Knight! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO is my impression so far. |

| Shovel Knight is a great game, Jimbob. Hope that impression stays with you for the rest of the game! |

| Going to bump this thread because, as I said elsewhere, I actually have a Wii U now! And I am playing four games (steady on, Rum). Really enjoying how I can play them all on the gamepad as well because our TV doesn't work brilliantly and it takes a good twenty minutes for the sound to warm up. But this way I can just play on the pad until the TV starts working - or have a quick blast without even bothering turning it on.
Firstly, I've been playing Metroid Zero Mission. And really I don't have much to say, other than I did literally exactly what Jaster explained a couple of posts up. Thoroughly enjoying how it drops you straight in there and leaves you to explore. Not gotten that far yet but I'm very glad to finally have the opportunity to play it.
Secondly, I downloaded Sin and Punishment 2. I rented it briefly several years ago during a brief dalliance with LoveFilm, and always meant to buy it; just never quite got round to it. Decided to download it considering it was on sale and it's good fun! I like on-rails shooters and I particularly like being able to play it on the pad, because I can see the frantic action that much more easily.
Thirdly, Mario Kart 8. I am lucky to have bought my Wii U just as the second DLC pack was released so there is a metric tonne of content for me to get stuck into. Turns out the Villager is my racer of choice! Really like how the pack doesn't spread out so much when you're racing, although it makes it frustratingly easy to fall from 1st to, like, 6th, very quickly. Excellent game.
Finally, Smash Bros. This is an odd one because I've been playing the 3DS version to death, but I really like the Events. Something I really missed from Melee. Also enjoying playing as Mewtwo again. |

| There's never been a better time to be a Wii U owner, Mr. President - glad you're having The Fun!
~~~
My playtime is trapped between LEGO Batman 3 (spoiler: exactly like any LEGO game you could name from the last two years) and DKC3. I will finish that before the end of the month... |
| Those are some fine games you are playing there since I finished affordable space adventures I've not played the wii U at all but I should really start Bayonetta 2 before Splatoon appears at the end of the month & I quite fancy returning to my NG+ play through of Shovel Knight as well. |
| Pikmin 3 - my favourite Wii-U game so far. I've still yet to play Pikmin 1, but Pikmin 2 remains one of my favourite games ever. I'm glad that the laid back nature of Pikmin 2 remains intact in the three-quel (the main reason I'm reluctant to try the first game) and coupled with the sleepy music and nature of collecting things, it's perfect for lying on the sofa with the Gamepad on a rainy afternoon. Pikmin is a series I would happily see Nintendo do more with. It's unique and I've always envisioned it being a series Nintendo could easily churn out extra levels for - it's just a shame that it doesn't sell well |
