| Thought it's time to delve back into DK in 3D since you lot get it on May 24. Which is earlier then what I thought to be honest.
I might even finish it this time around by myself |

It's too soon for me. I bought it upon release, which was December 3rd 2010, so it's been two years, four months. My memories of it are still clear, and it looked pretty good. So unless not-Retro is going to add significant amounts of extra content to appeal to people such as myself, without messing up the core game, I'll leave this to one side.

Like I said I'm getting it just to go all the way through as for some reason I got so far then stopped. Although I do remember that level where you had to time it right to be safe from the waves for some reason my sister and I had so much trouble with that And the fricken barrel rockets

I only finished the Wii version over Christmas 2011, so I'd only be tempted to pick this up after a dip in price. I can see no reason for this to exist apart from it being a bit of a cash-in on the original's popularity (as good as it was).

Worked fine on Wii, absolutely no point in it, 3D does little for me in actualy 3D games.

Thanks! If they handled Pilotwings, I'm happy with their 3DS pedigree; particularly regarding mastery of the 3D effect. For what good it'll do in this game.

This'll look great in 3D. I'm aware that it'll likely be an el cheapo port that'll simply be an excuse to showcase Donkey Kong and the 3DS' 3D effects, but so long as they don't make a bollocks of it then I'm sure this'll be a very worthy addition to many 3DS owner's libraries.

I'm agreeing with the majority of replies so far - I got as much out of Donkey Kong Country Returns as I was going to and so have no interest in this. We should be championing it for people who don't own Wiis/Wii U's, though - it's a brilliant game, if it can make the transition with everything intact.

If you've not played the Wii version, I'd get this, as it wouldn't have the dreaded "shake to roll" control scheme. I'm not going through it again though. *rocket level flashback*

@mas: It's a fair point. You do sometimes catch Nintendo games online with a few quid knocked off, so you never know. |

You've gt it the wrong way round there, Barrel Rocket was fun, Minecarts were just a pain in the ass.

I'm siding with Shanks on this one. Apart from the final barrel rocket stage which was pretty fun.

I too can't see a reason to have this, it's too soon after the Wii version. Maybe if it were launching at £20 I'd consider it, but it won't.

The minecart levels were probably my favourite levels in the game. I particularly loved it as they grew in scope and started messing about with the cart's distance from the camera.

For me nearly every mine cart and rocket level was a full-on pain in the bum, halting my progress for tens of lives at a time. On the other hand, beating them was a real pleasure.
