| That said, I feel I should put this piece up as a comparison. Nintendo's communication problems have been talked about time and time again, but they're pretty inexcusable when it comes to small developers (that after all make up most of the company's third-party support nowadays), especially when it comes to those reaching out for information and advice.
Or the chap could just have a chip on his shoulder about being refused an interview. |

| Why? It's a general piece about both eShops and Nintendo in general, and fits better here as a comparison piece to Bjorn's raving. |

| "An action-puzzle game", apparently. Looking at his website, maybe Gunhouse? But it's more the general outlook than his particular game that worries me. His game may be worth peanuts, but I'd still like to see some actual dialogue between him and Nintendo's people, and Nintendo reaching out to the smaller developers; and things like "a meaningless three sentence PR reply that failed to address any of his concerns" are concerning.
Like I said above, it may be just that he's bitter. But people have said time and time again that Nintendo's communication is not the best, which lends his rant a little more credibility. |

| I'm looking at the demo of Conception either on this or VITA as it looks really good but the reviews for it haven't that been great, so haven't imported as it cost a few squids to do so on something not that great. So glad there is a demo for it. |

| I'm a big JRPG fan (bigger than Cappa anyway, although I suspect that I don't measure up to Athrun or S_L), but Conception II seems a bit creepy for me. Build your harem of woman, and breed with them to produce children to fight? Even if it's not really "breeding", the subject matter still makes me feel distinctly uncomfortable, and mentions of "innuendo and light sexual humour" (according to Nintendo Life) rub me up the wrong way (hem hem). I'll stick to sentient toasters. |

| I don't know if the first used the same system but with it's name it's likely, from playing FE:A which has the marriage system I can see why & how you would make a game based around that. But the question is it any good, which I will on Thursday. |

| Tried the Conception II demo. Confirmed: it's weeeird. It's super creepy how the girls are all over you, culminating in an uncomfortable bit when you do the "ritual" to "make a star child" with music with lyrics like "I just wanna make love to you", thereby outright failing to veil it as imagery that is, you know, representing having sex with a lady. But I persevered into the "Labyrinth" and found it remarkably tedious. Looks like there's a lot of room for organising teams and stuff but I didn't really understand the way anything was laid out - it's not even slightly intuitive - and then I was just weirded out by the fact that you're running around this place with a lady and what are essentially a team of your own children that occasionally fall in battle after being whacked by evil monsters. Weird. |
