| It has a reputation (down South anyway) for being the rainiest, most vicious part of the British Isles. People who say that should try coming to North London in Spring. Anyway, the main reason for the thread is that nupkin and I are coming up to Dalkeith in about a month, and wondered if anyone close enough to or in Edinburgh or Glasgow would like to come to one of those and meet? We're both very nice people, honest. Everyone else: been up there recently? Liked it? Hated it? Any thoughts on independence? |

| I'll be in St Andrews, which is pretty close by! I've been living in Edinburgh for the past few weeks because I've been working at the science festival - Edinburgh and I are bosom buddies. Maybe I can meet you two. (I've never met any of you lot, but I've concluded now that you probably aren't paedophiles trying to groom me.)
Scotland is good. I like Scotland! I don't really get the "vicious" reputation because if anything, Scotland is actually a very friendly place. Glasgow in particular seems to have a worse reputation than it deserves (although I've never lived there, so perhaps you'd need Phleepps to clarify that). All of the Scots on the forum are proper lovely though, yeah? (Apart from Jaster. Stay away from that guy.) |

| I went to Leuchars on a cadet camp, it was warm and sunny(for a day) and the people weren't all that vicious. They had dogs to be vicious for them. As for its independance I highly doubt it'll happen despite what the Salmon chap thinks but it'll likely give England's other limbs ideas of its own...*glares at Wales* :medusa:
Also: I want to go there for university, those guys have good further edumacation and stuffs. |

| What makes you think that, Jas? You will all call me Balladeer, even in person. If nupkin isn't allowed to use my real name, why should you? (And now I'd better put a , otherwise someone will think I'm being serious.) I've PMed Rum, but it would be great if we could get a GNamer Scottish thing going on (with token Southerner). |

| Well, I hope you guys enjoy yourselves! I always have a good time in Edinburgh and like Glasgow too (though it must be eight years since I've been there!). A couple of things for the record: a) I reckon Scottish independence will be more closely contested than you might think; and b) when I met Balla, I'm not sure I did use his real name! I may have said "sir" a lot, though. |

| Genuinely no idea. Gywn? Yes, I'm aware that's a lazy assumption.

Give us a shout if a meet-up is happening. If I'm invited I'd need to know where and when though - Glasgow is easy enough for me to get to, Edinburgh isn't that much harder but weekends are impossible for me. |

| How many Irish people do we have, for that matter? I think Darunia, and...? If/when something happens while we're up there, it'll be 7th-9th MAY (not April those dates in April have been and gone ), i.e. Tue.-Thu. Probably Edinburgh, but not set in stone yet. I'll have my 3DS, along with LM2 and possibly other games. On a different topic, you know which part of Scotland's very pretty? Oban. Went there for a few days with my family, and we caught some decent weather. The walks were lovely, as was frolicking through Fingel's Cave.

| Tuesday or Wednesday shouldn't be a problem for me, though I'm definitely unavailable on Thursday 9th. The way I see it is: if I can make it, cool, if not, another time. |

Aye Oban is nice, I went up that way for a gig me & my brother were doing quite a few years ago now.
The drive to get there is a a scary one though with its small winding road. |
