Looks like I will be taking some for work, I'm not looking forward to it but the next 4 weeks, I'll be in ASDA's academy which must be easy to pass if you see some of the section leaders but I would sooner being doing work then sat in class room.

At the end you do get some sort of NVQ and the section leader course now since October has the mangers course in with it, meaning I could apply for a mangers job within ASDA.

All done, you can't really fail but now I can apply for a managers job but I've not got much experience and the nearest one is Bedminster

Another round of actuarial exams done. One question involved discussing proxies for gender, to be used in car insurance - I went for "pink cars" and absolutely hated myself for it.

Almost impossible to tell. The first one went better than the second one, I think. I wrote a lot of stuff either way! (wrings hand ruefully)

At some point I'll have to celebrate here properly, but I've forgotten the heron's log-in details. I PASSED BOTH OF THOSE EXAMS and am now on course to qualify as an actuary. Absolutely bloody chuffed with myself. And tonight I had the celebration drinks with my own kind (read: social awkward finance bods), and now I'm swaying really quite dramatically.

Following on from the above (not the directly above mind), I'm now an actuary! Allowing me to put FIA after my name. So, as Jay and Zero are already aware, the letters after my name now spell FIA MA/MMath.

There's a photo doing the rounds on Facebook of my S6 prom...which was ten years ago today. Jesus. What a session that was - absolutely legendary. It also means that I did my Highers ten years ago now.

There must be a few of us who left school in 2006 - who else is 25/26/27 years old?

(raises hand) Although it's next year when I'll have been out of school for ten years. I think Scottish school might finish up one age-year earlier than the English system.

I've already complained about missing most of my "prom" once on here, you don't need/want me to do it again. Then again, as an anime fan I'd have only spent it crying anyway.

I attempted a driving test last Thursday and failed it because of a major fault at a busy roundabout, but I tried again this morning and, thanks to the almost complete lack of traffic, I passed! I won't be getting a car until after I've finished with uni but it feels good to have a full licence

Congratulations! It's good to get the driving licence ticked off the list - heaven knows it took me long enough (and three attempts).
