| Captain America is boring anywhere for the most part, to me even his comics are boring at times.
So yeah I'm a little bit excited for Winter Soldier but not as much as the other Marvel movies this year and yes that means Guardians |

| Thor is easilly the most boring and worst of the Avengers, although Thor 2 is the best individual film.
The Captain America is also among the best ones. |

| I will agree that Thor himself is not the best avenger. For my money, the order goes something like:
Iron Man Banner (the new version) Nick Fury *Good-bad divide* Thor Cap'n Black Widow Hawkeye |

| Iron man would be absolutely awful without Robert DJ. Charming and funny actor does not make up for boring and illogical premise. |

| I really like Cap. He's the most "normal" out of the lot of them - shame his film was a bit naff.
Agreed on the estimation of Banner, never been a massive Hulk fan. |

| These are mostly based on the characterisation, and entirely based on the films. I haven't read the comics. So yes, Iron Man would be rubbish without RDJ, but he's great with RDJ. And I've only seen this particular Banner (the one in The Hulk was bona fide awful) briefly, but I really liked him in Avengers, both as Banner and as the Hulk: |

| Mark Ruffalo was an excellent Banner. The Hulk has the potential to be ace - a much more conflicted personality than most of his colleagues should lead to good drama - but almost never is.
One of the reasons I like Captain America is that he's just a human. A very good human, physically and morally, but still a human. I described him once as having "infinite bravery". |

| But so far, in the films, he's been a very boring human. A Mary Sue. I understand that in the comics he brings more of his 1940s attitude with him, including his social prejudices. In the films, I haven't seen many signs of that: he's just an out-and-out hero, and dull with it. |

| I do wish that he would have commented how his very first mission after being unfrozen was to go to Germany to help the Germans. |

| "Last time I was in Germany" First thing he says.
Hulk should lead to great, character-driven films but Hollywood don't have the balls to do him justice. |

| He's still being all heroic at the time, though. Still quite Mary Sue-ish. No "I have to help those bastards? No chance." Which would have made him interesting.
I feel about Cap like you feel about Hulk, Buska: there's room to do a lot of interesting things with him in the films that haven't been done, because OH NO THE BIG AMERICAN GUY CAN'T HAVE ANY FLAWS THAT WOULD BE UNPATRIOTIC. |

| Captain America: The Winter Soldier Funny. Good karate. Good clean fun. Felt more like a Bond film than a superhero film for the most part. Cap was still a good guy through and through, but the film found ways to keep that interesting. They basically put him in scenarios where being a good guy isn't the best bet; cloak and daggers and intrigue.
It attempts the same thing as Iron Man 3, where they adapted a comic book that was considered great because it was full of character moments and low key drama, but tried to fill it with the sort of ott spectacle a film needs. The difference is, cap pulled it off.
Top stuff.
Also loads of cool superhero films advertised, plus Godzilla. Gonna be a good year for me. |

| Hmm. . . I was thinking that as I wrote this. He's almost part of an ensemble cast. If you really couldn't be dealing with him in the other films you won't feel differently here, he's pretty much the same. |

| He's better as part of an ensemble than on his own, though. His lack of character flaws doesn't shine out as much when he's surrounded by more interesting people. I guess I'll look at the reviews it gets. |

| They sort of make his lack of flaws into a flaw, in that he trusts everyone and isn't very good at the world of spies and that. But then - Spoiler:
the goodies win anyway.

Funny. Good karate. You should have just ended your mini-review there. Anyone seen the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer? Looks exactly like everything else Michael Bay has done in the past ten years. |

| He.'s only a producer. He's probably about as involved as Spielberg was with Transformers. Anyway, Turtles looks like they've captured the cartoon characters but shoehorned them into a dark knight-esque world. X - men looks ace, anyone seen that trailer |

| TMNT look's okay and reading up about it's kinda what Buska said but the other way around, it's suppose to be a believable world with the turtles. |
