| Pokemon Rumble U to use NFC
http://m.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/47623/pokemon-rumble-u-nfc-confirmed-for-wii-u/
This could be the kick up the arse that wii U needs. |

| Pokemon Rumble seems perfect for NFC and the sales opportunities are limitless (well 600+ figures anyway) the only downside is that Pokemon Rumble isn't really up to much, the gameplay needs a bit more variety for me for it to really take off. |

| I've not played Skylanders or Rumble and will probably continue not to but something tells me I'm not the target audience anyway. I'm surprised Nintendo didn't cash in on this sooner. |

| All this comparing Pokémon Rumble U to Skylanders makes me sad. Skylanders actually has a good game behind it. Granted, I enjoyed the 3DS version of the game (briefly), but the gameplay isn't solid/interesting enough to be mentioned in the same breath as Skylanders. Unless said breath contains the words: " Skylanders is a much better game than Pokémon Rumble." /Biased. |

| Pretty sure they're just comparing them because of the NFC features, which is understandable. |

| It's not the physical comparison that bugs me, more the integration comparison. I'd love to be proven wrong, but Skylanders integrates its main gimmick in a way that it stops feeling like a gimmick in the end. Going by what I know of the gameplay of this game, that's incredibly unlikely to happen in this instance. |

| Repeated stories about Wii U's retail failure are making me depressed. I know that all consoles start off slowly, but this isn't looking particularly great. Anyone want to comfort me? I accept hugs. Nice hugs, not creepy hugs. No Winkyman emoticons or anything. |

| Chris (of NGamer fame) just tweeted that he's "sick of people saying Wii U has no games now. 360 & 3DS had less games by this point, and the PS3 got the "no games" shit for nearly a year". Damn straight. I've been through some dozen-or-so console launches, and I think that, not only have things been good for the Wii U, but things are looking good for the future. Yes, you need sales to stimulate third-party interest, but things are improving day-by-day as the console approaches the launches of the likes of Lego City, Pikmin 3 and Wii Fit U, and have surely improved today with the release of Monster Hunter and HMV's Premium price-drop.
I've always felt that we're only two days away from an upturn in the Wii U's fortunes (all I think it would take is a Nintendo Direct to blow us away...and I'm convinced that this is on the way sooner or later). I'm quite happy with what's on offer at the moment - a wee bit disappointed with the Virtual Console and TVii not being ready, but I can't fault the software available at the shops.
All things considered though...the marketing in the UK has been absolutely rubbish thus far. |

Completely agree. There's loads of software in the shops - more than I can remember for a Nintendo home console launch - and there's lots of lovely stuff on the horizon, and the horizon after that. The Wii U eShop is going to be filled with indie gems, too. The future's bright. |

| I've just spotted one of Nintendo's own online eShop ads, which classifies the digital download of Need For Speed: Most Wanted as a 'Virtual Console' title, which I suppose it is, really. Up to now, I've only ever thought of Virtual Console as a classic games service. Hmm. |

| I might upset some of you with this, i agrre a lot with chris of nagmer fame, ive been looking back on the ps3 and 360
PS3 had these big games in 1st 12 months, motor storm Resistance Heavnly sword Folklore Ratchet and clank Uncharted yep so ps3 wasn’t so good as well to start with took nearly 12 months for a excellent title in uncharted but if look at the 1st 3 months of the 360 so that’s dec 2005 to march 2006 (the wiiu has been out nearly 4 months right), it has these standard out titles if you were look at multiform at and 1st 12 months the 360 had a brilliant start
360 had in 1st 3months these big games Amped 3 Call of duty 2 Condemned Kameo Perfect dark zero Pgr 3 Dead or alive 4 Ghost recon Elder scrolls oblivion Final fantasy XI
theres some decent things there, yes the 360 had lees games then wiiu does now but its quality over quantity and nintendo have proved that them slefs in the past launching the n64 with just mario 64 why would want anything else, i would sooner have 5 decent wiiu games out by now then 20 ports of games i played all ready.

| What comment was this now? I think the main struggle with the Wii U is definitely the advertising, I haven't seen anything in the media whatsoever since launch (and even that was minimal), sure the gamers who knew about this for a while picked it up but what about everyone else? What about the people who think it's just a new Wii controller, Nintendo really need to give it a good push and soon, hopefully that will happen over the next few months when the exclusives get released. The pricing doesn't help either, I'd possibly consider some of the ports at £40 but when most are selling at £50 there's no chance. |

Oops, I think my reply was meant to go in another thread - forgot which one! It was a comment about whether Balladeer had missed anything on the eShop before he returned. |
