Wii U news thread

I think a bit of both, as some peeps still only buy discs and it fills the big void on the Wii U.

As this will be the last Christmas for Wii-U (I know Christmas is 4 months away!) do you guys think there will be some stores flogging Wii-Us at bargain prices? The Dreamcast had a similar thing in 2001 with stores selling them as low as £50. I don't think the Wii-U will go that low, but as a former Wii-U owner who now regrets selling the thing, I'm interested in picking one up on the cheap. Especially if the NX doesn't have backwards compatibility.

Yeah as Amazon have even sold the console cheap already at times like Black Friday, I can see that happening again and I think my local indy store had a 32gb for £120.

Wow, mas - £120 is amazing! I was going to say 'Maybe not, boss' on the basis that all the Wii U bundles in the Toys'R'Us I was in yesterday are all still over £200, but what do I know? I am hoping to see the retailers still stocking Wii U's lower the price a bit in time for Christmas - they're going to sell precious few otherwise, in my opinion.

It was used of course but I think it was the New Super Mario Bros U bundle and I reckon on eBay you can get cheap as well. Also the WiiU is not like a 360, where buying used could be a problem part from maybe the screen.

More Nintendo Select titles coming to Europe: Captain Toad, Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World and Mario Party 10. Some very solid titles there: anyone tempted to add to their collection?

All games I played through already (apart from Mario Party 10, which for my money is worse than Wii Party U).

That said, more and possibly cheaper Pikmin 3s on the shelf is good news for when I decide to replay the trilogy.

I really like Mario Party 10, people are far too harsh on it. I've got 'em all anyway, so it's a no from me!

Andyman is right, people are too harsh on Mario Party 10. I've seen it called the worst game on Wii U by a few folk, which is just bollocks.

Apart from Twilight Princess HD and Xenoblade Chronicles X, I think that I've got every Nintendo-published game for Wii U already (so, obviously, it's a no from me too).

It's not the worst game on Wii U but it's probably the worst Mario Party, possibly bar 9, the moving together in a car thing is a huge swing and a miss.

I think the travelling in the same car helps it stand up alongside the others, I'm much more likely to alternate between 8&9 than 4&5.
It can lead to some great tactical play as you try and place yourself in a good spot whilst setting up the next player for a fall.

I didn't even know it was supposed to be coming to Wii U!
I can't say this is a surprising turn of events any more.

That is lame but not surprising since it came out on ps4 a couple of months ago.
