| The ladyfriend's been great for digging out and finishing off old games. After Year Walk, our next joint project is a rerun of Undertale. Start from the beginning, fulfil the Pacifist conditions, take advantage of the apparently quick possible turnaround between Peaceful Neutral and the Pacifist endgames. And if that's wrong, she doesn't object to replaying stuff as much as I do (she luuuuurves her Bioware games). Flowey's even creepier than I remember. I dodged his opening salvoes this time, and almost wished I hadn't. |

Yep, it's possible! You'll get warped to just before the Peaceful Neutral boss fight and you can go and get onto the Pacifist route. |

| We've just reached the end of Snowdin. - Spoilers up 'til there:
As someone who's been on both sides of the conversation, the Papyrus date was surprisingly moving.

| Same. The game does a good job of hiding very real characters under the silliness, as I recall. |

| Ah, absolutely. Papyrus and Sans - especially Sans - are clear examples of total goofballs with interesting characters beneath the silly exterior. |

| Saying that, Undyne might just be my favourite character yet. Also Spear of Justice is now stuck in my head, forever. |

| Thread's over, I'm not sure anyone else can top that post for wit and insight, Mas has won it.
(Quite apart from anything else, in my case it's a Mac.) |

Spear of Justice is a banger and a half, quality tune. How far are you now, Balla? - masofdas wrote:

| Yeah I got a Alpha Preview code for a upcoming Switch game which will also release on other formats like STEAM. I can't get the game to run and it crashes my laptop, I've spoke to the devs, who's solution was uninstall and reinstall the game, which of course made no difference.

| I know doing that is a pain but you might just need to stick at trying as it might just be the build causing the issue. |

| More then likely is something in the Alpha is causing the laptop to crash as I've played some KI on this laptop which doesn't run great but runs and that is far more advanced game.
Yet this is why I like console gaming as the game just works, sure not everything is 4K 60fps with max settings but what Horizon looks like is still astonishing. |

That is all. The fight, or the character? Because I like both... |

| The fight. Asgore's an interesting character, but he's a bastard to do battle with. I'm no good at bullet hell, and it's really showing now. |

| It was a big sticking point for me too. My only recommendation would be to go back and grind out some cash for healing items or if you've somehow kept a hold of the cake Toriel makes at the beginning then use that during the fight.

| I don't know if anyone has seen but Blizzard had made Starcraft Anthology FREE and I'm certainly giving this classic a download. |

| My brother's well into his Starcraft, but I've always found RTS games pretty tedious. I might give it a go eventually.
What I have played recently, on the recommendation of Kate Gray on Tired Old Hack, is Orchids to Dusk. It's free to download and takes five minutes, and if you haven't heard the latest TOH Podcast yet and/ or you don't know anything about this game, I insist you go and download it here and play RIGHT NOW and come back and let me know what you think, having gone in blind. |

| Yeah you didn't even like the casual quick and easy RTS Halo Wars.
Just watched the trailer for Orchid and looks like I will need a controller which I don't have. |

| I played without a controller; couldn't even get the controller to work. Trust me, it won't be an issue. It can played with just a mouse. In fact, I used my laptop touchpad! |

| I did play it and I'm going to say I don't really get IT. It does reminds of the game Proteus on PS3/VITA/PC which has a similar art-style, which I also didn't get on with.
I did just play, something else though. |

Done the former, can't do the latter. I can beat him semi-regularly now. Just need to wait for the girlfriend to be here, so my skill can no doubt take a sudden nosedive. |

| - I really do want people to play Orchids blind:
You didn't pick up on what the trees were, or feel any feelings about mortality and that? I went in knowing the deal, and while it did make me pause a little I wonder if it would have been different had I been figuring it out for myself. It didn't do much to even point things out. Maybe it could have briefly shown my character's grave become a tree, before fading to black?
Passage did the same job better.

If I read what you've out and didn't know what game you were talking about, I would have said you were talking about Journey which I did get those things from.
