So this is finally coming out in the EU on the 15th of August. It's the first game to use NFC but no word yet where you are going to be able to buy the figure's , in NA there exclusive to gamestop, so GAME in the UK then you would think. Also is this the 1st nintendo game on the eshop.

Whilst this might put money in the bank for Nintendo, I've been dreading it. It all depends on the availability and pricing of the figures. Disney have caught some flak over their Infinity game, which may have deflected some heat from Ninty. In any case I will not be picking this up. The Rumble games have never appealed to me.

I'll be sticking with the normal Pokemon games myself. Selling Pokemon like this just rubs me up the wrong way.

 So you needn't buy any figures at all? That's a relief, because 649 x £3 = £1,947. Shocked

I'm not sure about this. On the one hand, I enjoyed the 3DS outing; on the other hand, I thought it was a waste of the 3DS' capabilities, and this hardly seems to be any different here from what I've seen of the Wii U screens and info.

Anyone thinking about buying, maybe this is better. See the eShop thread for my reasons why I'm not buying. Also GAME are selling figures at £3.99 each.

And you couldn't edit because?

But anyway I'm a bit worried that once again in Aus there has been no word on the figures needed for the game yet from anyone

NONE OF YOU WILL EVER MATCH MY POST COUNT!  AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA! Twisted Evil

Seriously, unless you're bumping, editing is good.  And having a post count like mine says bad things about your social life.

Can't you import some from Japanese. I'm personally not that bothered about them as you can get all the mon in game and not going to go to someone else's house and play it over there. Only thing that is interesting is they unlock secret things in game. Not sure what though.

What a Douche, I've seen a few bad reviews for the game but it's only £13.50 and you don't need to buy the figures like with skylanders and there only £4 not £10. I went expecting a basic brawler and guess what that's what I got, I wasn't expecting a 10/10 Bioshock Infinite quality but a solid 6 which it is.

You don't actually have to buy any figures to play it do you? Sure I read all Pokemone were obtainable by either playing or using codes.

That's a pretty extreme opinion, akin to the bashing Square Enix's All The Bravest got. I also took the time to read the Wonderful 101 review from the same chap; it's tempting to label him as anti-Nintendo. Evil or Very Mad

I remember he kicked off a recent Wii U game review with the statement "Nintendo deserve every bit of criticism they've got for the Wii U". Whadda guy. He can't resist having a go at Nintendo. I wonder if they've stopped sending him games for free to review, or something.

David Jenkins is far from anti-Nintendo, and a lot of his criticism of the company is borne out of love (you wouldn't be saying what you did if you've read any of his features which examine the company, or champion what they do so well?) I've been reading GC for years. He's been accused of being pro-Nintendo a few times. This is the first time I've ever seen the opposite.

I see now problem with what he mentioned about Wii U at the start of the Pikmin 3 review, most Nintendo fans would agree that the platform's problems stem from Nintendo themselves.

As Chris Schilling mentioned on Twitter, GC can be awfully dismissive at times (Pokemon Rumble U, Metroid: Other M, Paper Mario Sticker Star) but overall they do great reviews.

I don't believe you're being very fair by judging an entire man's work based on a couple of features (and TW101 review wasn't even negative, only complaining about pacing) and a blatantly cynical Pokemon Rumble review.

I missed that comment above. It still strikes me that Jenkins had a bad night's sleep, had no milk in the fridge for his breakfast, stepped in shite on the way to work and took his bad mood out on Pokémon Rumble U.

I'm not judging all of his work on that one review - I've got my own opinions of the man as a games journo after reading GC on-and-off since 2006. But that one review that we're talking about here is indefensibly poor.

So, I picked up this from GAME and got the white figurine, a brown one, something that looks like celery and something that looks like a cake. (Basically, I'm not a pokemon fan but I was intrigued to see how the technology worked.)
