The Advert Bit - Just a question

Hi all,

This is a bit pointless I guess, but: You know on the front page of the forum there's always a stodgy advert below the GNamer logo... I thought I'd just ask ally'alls if there's a particular advert you get. What advert do you get?

I always get an advert for Gledhill building and plumbing products. Why? I don't know. Is it real or spam? I daren't find out.

Umm... I don't have one at all!
Maybe that's just cos I'm using my Wii U?

I'm an adblocking scumbag, so not only am I not contributing to forumotions's server costs, I don't see any ads.

It only appears for me when I'm not logged in, as soon as I do it's gone.

Usually iOS related game ads for me which is super annoying when I visit the classic site on my itouch as the App Store automatically opens. *shakes fist*

Same. For me it's similar to Jimbob: Tesla Coil electrics or some such rubbish.

No ad here, at least not at home, as I had to block the provider as they were responsible for an ad over on CVG which would crash my browser.

No ad for me either (and I don't use adblock), surprised I hadn't noticed it until now. Especially given just how bad the adverts on CVG were back in the day...

Today's was for something called Elsword, which was a manga on-line beat-'em-up (I think). They tend to be for on-line games, mine.

No ad when logged in, if I'm not logged in it's either someones spying on me, game related, or something really weird like tesla coil like a few others.

Well it helps those who struggle to get up and down the stairs.

The one I just had was sponsored by the Department for Education and said "Maybe it's time to consider becoming a Maths Teacher." That's a bit of a slap in the face - I've been doing that for nearly ten years now.

I've got Russian Girls Marriage, so Nintendo are about as good at advertising as sex traffickers.

What's that I smell? Is it tagline material?

And I have an ad for a camera.. Coincidence?

It's just Google Ads now, it would seem, as opposed to whatever was displaying the engineering parts. I get terrible manga adverts.

A Xbox One ad, at least they know I don't own ONE.

Sometimes it's an advert for the company I work for and I get all paranoid like they're watching me.

Not that I'd have anything to worry about because it's a great company and an absolute joy to work for them,

Me and Natalya are in love, okay? The whole "passport" thing was the last thing on her mind when she accepted my proposal.

There's a cricket blog I frequent where I've unhidden the ads.  I frequently get adverts for Muslim singles dating and fitness singles dating, as well as awful romantic manga.

Look, Google Ads.  I may be desperate*, but I'm agnostic, averse to exercise, and three-dimensional.  I don't think you've got this quite right here.
