| - Chapter 2:
So we've made it to principled Eisenberg with a lady called Yoko in tow. I'm to hotfoot it to Hartschild to get Goodman's wounds tended to.
I wish I could give Tiz an asterisk that'd get him some attacking moves but I've trapped him in the healer role: previously a bishop, now an astrologian, briefly a red mage: he's currently got no attacking magic and Beatrice cat hits harder than him (she might well do: her windmill punch packs quite a - yeah). Nuts. That is, of course, balanced against Edea the Triple Wielding Fencer and Magnolia the Charioteer, so I shouldn't complain too much.

| I did the same thing with him actually. Although I did also give him some wizarding experience - Spellcraft is hugely useful for a healer. I swear by Heal + Mist. |

| Astrologer's buffs are literally broken early game, I breezed through most of the game just spamming physical attack buffs and using Fencer's attack skills. Well worth the party member that does nothing else in my opinion! Never even needed a healer until the last few bosses, everything just died too fast! By the time I needed a healer the Chainspell skill was a thing and Red Mage became a beast of a class. |

So I've picked up the Hawkeye asterisk, which I'm enjoying tremendously. Magnolia has the job and is also still triple wielding, so she gets to fire and chop wood in the same turn. However, the first Chapter 2 sidey is out of commission whilst the people of Hartschild have vanished. On the other hand, the one that starts at Grapp Keep has just opened up. Looking forward to this one!

| Great job that one. Guns seem slightly OP in this game. |

| - Chapter 2:
Currently fighting Janne Angard again and I am badly set up for the battle. Magic attacks seem to be the way forward but I only have Spirit Magic available, with two heavy attackers and the aforementioned Tiz the Healer in tow. I started this scrap yesterday and have only just gotten the scoundrel down to half health. Tomorrow will be the third day.

| Do you even have Black Magery by that point? Also not everybody power-levels all of their jobs early-game. I didn't have a single job maxed out by the time I finished the game! Can you Astrology + Red Mage + Mist? |

| Oh I didn't power level all my jobs early on, just a couple for each character for skills and level 6 for everything they weren't using!
To be fair in chapter 2 it takes about 4 diffreent chain battles to get a job up to level 6-7 though!
And yep, you can use Mist with buffs! If it's a magical spell of any kind whatsoever it can be combined with Mist so long as you're using a Wizard or the Spellcraft skill!
Pretty broken, although my favourite broken combo is still Echo and Chainspell. Having a skill that has a chance of causing a immediate free recast combined with a skill that causes every spell cast be cast twice, so every recast has a chance of causing another two casts for indefinite magic spells is just sooooo broken and fun! |

| I communicated that badly - I didn't mean "can one", I meant "can Zero". I did Mist basically everything, although it ended up being mostly heals because not having to worry about that (OHKOs aside) was just too convenient (along with attacking spells, Mist + Dark did a number on a certain late-game boss). It's whether Zero has the right job levels in his party to just Mist-cast Fira or whatever. |

| Whoops, my bad. That said all this talk of Mist is making me want to abuse the heck out of it when I play through the game again, never really did use it much and it sounds super fun |

| Whilst I did have the Black Mage asterisk at that point, no-one had it; I'm more interested in levelling up Catmancy. The Astrologian was giving buffs where he could but only to Magic Attack - Physical Attacks resulted in a powerful counter which I did not want to happen to my two glass cannons. As it happened, things changed in my favour... blow it, back to spoilers... - Chapter 2:
Janne stopped leaving himself in a position to Stampede after every turn so my big hitters were able to, er, hit big and wrap him up in a handful of turns. Most welcome - now I can get back to rebuilding Fort-Moonende in record time.

| And this is why you try a balanced selection of jobs. Zero, you've not told us about at least one of your side-quest choices if I'm not mistaken! Specifically, - Spoiler:
Profiteur vs. Whyte.
I could probably guess, but who did you go for? |

| Ah! - Chapter 2:
That sidey has been sidelined whilst I return the people of Hartschild back to life. I imagine I'll know who to side with, too. Having said that, I've just sorted the Sholmes one in favour of Heinkel - I felt Sholmes would need guidance before his talent could flourish. In further news, you'll be pleased to know that Yew is now a Black Mage.

| That is a good call! I couldn't decide which one I agreed with there, saw advantages to both, so I went with the one that got me the best job. Which would be the same choice as you. |

| Eew, Knight class. Dual wield skill >>>>>>>>> ( times infinity!) anything knight offers Condescending jokes aside though dual wield skill is one of the single most useful skills in the game since practically every class benefits from it, even more so with the addition of the triple and quad wield abilities of the Chariot which all get buffed from it. Knight doesn't really do anything to be completely honest. Best tank and healer is - super chapter 5 spoilers:
Kaiser with Exorcist sub ability!

| That was indeed my intention! Getting near to the end of Chapter 2, I think - I've been playing the game for many more hours than I thought feasible, too. That does mean I've fully upgraded Fort-Lune, though - so that's good. |

| Woops. Forgot you get the class opposing the one you side with, for some reason despite that being the general gist of the side missions! |

| - Chapters 2 and 3:
The tinpot robot at the end of Chapter 2 beat me so I took Balla's advice to get some Spellcraft in my healer's life and, simply, game changer. I've also taken Triple Wield off my big hitters in a bid to keep them, y'know, alive. What concerns me is that even with Hartschild repopulated the Merchant vs. White Mage sidey hasn't come back to town. Really hope I haven't missed that one. By what strange trick of fate do our paths diverge anew?

| That boss was the first hard thing the game threw at me. I died several times. Which is ironic given the "sophistication" of its control units. As for the side-quests, not sure on that one. I always took them down as soon as they appeared. |

| I feel compelled to mention unsubtly brag that I beat that chapter 2 boss on the first try with two triple wielding physical glass canons and another dual wielding offensive unit. The Astrologer class is that good!
I'm just going to mention again of the unspoken ability of triple wield is the ability to dual wield without the weapon strength penalty and defence penalty by using the head slot as your second weapon slot and using a shield. |

| - Chapters 2 and 3:
So two sideys have fallen in the past few days. The Hartschild port one was settled in favour of building the port - I sided with Profiteur and beat Holly. This turned out to be a mistake when the scoundrel ran off without paying up. Mrgrgr! The educational one in Florem and Florem outskirts was settled in favour of a coeducational school, so I beat Einheria to agree with Barras. My second teacher training placement was at an all boys school and I did not like that aspect of it. Besides, you should work with as many different people as possible in life.
In storyline terms, about to have a chat with the Sagitta people who speak Moonlish. Idle thought: what do they speak in the French translation?
