I will be downloading on my PS4 come launch.

Looks genuinely charming. Beautiful art style. I have a feeling that the rhyming may annoy me after a while, though.

I can't see why you'd think they'd grate, but there's every chance they might. Surely they'd only irritate if the couplets weren't very good.

Not everything was meant to be, but it's clear it was for some of them. Many seem like a stretch to me, I'm sure you would agree, Balladeer.

What I would like to know is how involving is that turn based battle system?

£11.99 is on the expensive side for an eShop game. I might wait for a sale to pick it up, especially as there'll be Scram Kitty and Shovel Knight - which look better prospects to me - around the same time.

I don't think £11.99 is expensive if this is the RPG equivalent of rayman's platforming.

Those could easily be around £8 & £12 too, if an e shop game has a good meaty experience to it then I would say £12 is too bad.

That's totally fair, and I shouldn't have linked my two sentences like that. I'll be playing Scram Kitty and Shovel Knight ahead of Children Of Light whatever happens, so I'd rather not have another game sitting unused on the hard drive... so it makes sense to wait for a sale.

Aye that's fair, I'm still unsure on child of light as well so I'll wait for feedback from you chaps & a future sale.

I'm better disposed towards Child Of Light after reading this article (WARNING: links to thoughtful article on OXM website). And I do love JRPG's...

I'd like some more JRPGs where the protagonists have actual personalities.  Much prefer them to blank slate heroes like Red.

Also I will never look at Sleeping Beauty in the same way ever again.

The Child of Light Deluxe Edition will contain exclusive content, including a poster designed by Yoshitaka Amano, the renowned Japanese artist, a 24 page art book with unrevealed artwork and an Igniculus key ring. This boxed edition will also include additional game content, with a bonus quest, a new character and a pack of collectibles.

It's for PS4 which comes with cross-buy for PS3 and there's a PC version. Shopto have it down as £18.85 with a rrp of £19.99. It still not a disc though it's just codes to redeem it all of PSN.

Woo, out this week! I'm going to be all over this, bar a critical panning. Anyone else as excited as I am?

It looks grand; hopefully it will be released on the date given in the post title, as I've decided not to buy any games in May (the main aim being to turn over some of the RPG's in my backlog!  ).

Well, it hasn't got a critical panning, apart from by Edge (and no one is surprised). Round-up of reviews here.

Nintendo Life have also given this a glowing review.

I did take a picture of all the page's but not loaded on to my Google+ for some reason, as thought Balla and others might like.

The art book is about 20 pages, and I'm never going to put the poster up or use keyring but it's was only a extra £4 and includes the Dark & Golem DLC packs which are £1.69 each on PSN, so just to buy it all on PSN with the DLC would cost £15.37, so 62p for a art book, poster, keyring is great but I can do better as there was a slight tear on the box. Amazon refunded me £1.99, meaning I paid £14 which is only £2.10 more then PSN or £1.28 cheaper if I was going to buy the DLC from PSN.

Yet to actually play due to reasons in the %*&^$$Y thread and not yet redeemed downloaded.

If you have a PS3/4 or PC I would buy the deluxe edition as it's worth the extra 62p (that's if you would buy the DLC) and the cross-play is a great idea for PS3 & PS4 then how it was done with PS3 & VITA. As you might have a PS3 now but upgrade to PS4 in the future and you can still play this, your more likely to do that then buy a VITA and talking about VITA you can use remote play with the PS4 which this game might suit.

I was going to buy this but Stick It To The Man looks like my kind of crazy so I'm getting that instead.

Played about half an hour this morning. It's gorgeous and atmospheric but it mostly seems to be a 2D platformer at the moment. I've done the first chapter and only faced about five battles. For those wanting to know about the combat system, it is like the Final Fantasy ATB set-up: there's a meter at the bottom of the screen and once your icon gets so far along it you select an action. Then your icon has to travel along the rest of the meter for the action to take effect. If a baddy hits you after you've selected your action, you are 'Interrupted' and effectively lose your turn. If this keeps happening, you can slow the progress of the enemy's icons on the meter.

Simple but fun - hoping for more story before too long.
