| Car Trader I've never properly thought about what the worst game I've played is, I guess I always said it was something like Universal Studios on the Cube because I remember it getting low scores in NGC, well I don't have to think about it now because it's undoubtedly Car Trader. I managed to get it by winning a competition on Twitter to which the account said "Try and enjoy" in their tweet, that was my first clue. I thought I'd boot it up to see what it was actually like, thinking I might get some sort of car modding/trading game but it's literally just a few static screens with no music and a little voice over that says "sold" that reminded me of "rise from your gwave" levels of sound quality. There's no gameplay whatsoever, you randomly bid on a car, make some random repairs and then sell it on where random people buy randomly, that's it, there's no logic to anything it does. A look back on the Parental Controls app says I played 5 minutes of this, the game page boasts that it features 25 different cars so even if you were to stick with it you'll have seen everything it has to offer in about 20 minutes. I feel robbed and I didn't even pay for it, all I did to win the game was RT and reply with a car related picture, I think I put in more effort to win and play it than the developers did to make it. I knew there was worries of the eShop getting some questionable games now it's so popular but this takes the biscuit, the worst part though, this costs £3.59, that's the same as Gunman Clive or more than the gang of constantly on sale for 89p eShop games, a fancy Starbucks coffee, a happy meal, a pair of socks and sandpaper all of which are much more fun than this. | Great stuff, especially the score. Sounds like the proverbial 'big pot full of bum', then. Or perhaps a 'big pot full of fanny'? |

| Its rare that you find a game worthy of the harshest of scores. What a car crash of a game |

| Hi Smurf, Jay here from Gritty Reality, a burgeoning sandpaper company up in Scotland. Can we use your review on the boxes of our product? Adding "better than Nintendo eShop title Car Trader" might shift a few boxes. Cheers. Seriously though, I'd delete my retweet and send them their code back. |

| I saw you playing that on my Friends List a couple of weekends ago, and I remember thinking 'what the fuck is he playing there?!' ~ I fancied a break from the usual platformers/racers/sports games cycle that I find myself in, so I gave Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers on the 3DS a shot. I was genuinely surprised with how decent it was! It's an interesting mix of brawler, racer and tower defense with breaks of shoot-'em-up, resource management and storytelling. The core gameplay can be really good fun at times - it's miles better than that original Dillon game that stunk up the eShop back in the day. For the first while at least, it's a very appealing game (that looks great too). Why I stopped playing: I'd had my fill. I think Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers quite badly protracted. I played this for just over nine hours, and I felt that it should have finished before that, even though I was nowhere near the end. It was just getting too repetitive, too laborious and the battles were just starting to take too long. My breaking point was when I lost a forty-minute mission right at the end, and I couldn't stomach playing through all that again. |

| Probably in the same boat on Dead Heat Breakers, really enjoyed it but stopped way before it was finished.
On checkpoints, they wouldn't really work as each mission is a tower-defence strategy hybrid, so if you checkpointed halfway through you might already have screwed it |

| It's time for me to make some realistic decisions in another Didn't Finish Double Bill. - WANDERSONG:
I wanted to like Wandersong. The bard is charming, and Miriam's a perfect snarky foil. Solving puzzles* using the song wheel is inspired. You can do stupid dances pretty much anywhere for no reason. There's a Homestuck reference in there, for crying out loud. It's all so happy. I would really recommend this to anyone who gets a lot out of 'walking simulators', or just someone who wants some happy cheer without the pretence at a failure state that Kirby has. Unfortunately I think I need that pretence.
- HYPER LIGHT DRIFTER:
I wanted to like HLD even more. I was waiting for this for ages, ages I tell you. It looked like an amazing cyberpunk Zelda with one of the best art styles I've seen in an indie game. Unfortunately it feels a bit... soulless. That's intentional: it was a design choice to cut out all dialogue, and the paucity of NPCs feels post-apocalyptic, especially when combined with the dead giants seen in the background. However, when combined with the high difficulty that clearly only gets higher, the lack of direction, and level design that feels a bit like it could be ProcGen, it sucked all of the charm of the art style out of the game for me. I can't help thinking that HLD would have been better for me had it just had a couple of talkative NPCs, or a bit more obvious story, or a bit more direction. If this makes it sound a bit 'indie Dark Souls', then the lukewarm reception from GNamer's No. 1 Dark Souls Fan was the last nail in the neon coffin for me. I've felt no real desire to go back to it, and I don't think I ever will.

| MECHSTERMINATION FORCEThis is the full-game equivalent of a rage quit. Mechstermination Force is hard. Really hard. Especially if you can't aim, like me; and can't keep track of three different attacks coming from three different directions, like me; and have low patience for an odd floaty jump, like me. What's worse, it doesn't seem to have much of the charm of the developer's previous Gunman Clive games. It's pretty enough, and it's going for a different angle and that's fair, but the GCs had whimsy and this isn't trying to. It's the difficulty that finally broke me though. Was I making progress? Slowly, yes. Was I enjoying doing so? Not really. |

| I've got a fair bit of patience for hard games - built up from years of Souls and MonHan, in all likelihood - but there's no shame in packing something in for it being too tough especially when it's at the detriment of your enjoyment of the game. I've not reached that point with the ultra-hard games I've played in the past, but I'd have no qualms in dropping a game if I did. |

| I said elsewhere I've been jumping around a few games on Xbox One thanks to Game Pass, Gold, BC, Deals and one game I played for a bit was Void. Just last night I went back to it and wasn't feeling it. Now it does have some good ideas as wait for this checklist for being Ballas worst nightmare First Person Shooting, Rogue-lite, Procedurally Generated. It is how that is handled as when you die all the items you have gotten are still on the ship, meaning the next person you play as will have all those items. Same for the map as the I guess mother ship moves to the same section. Just I've got so many games to play and more enjoyable ones, that it is getting ditched. |

| It's a shame to hear you bounced off HLD Balls Man, as I just beat my first boss the other night and I'm actually at the point of really enjoying this game and wanting to get good and stuck into it! |

It really is a shame. It may be that I come back to it, especially if you continue to love it. Does seem rather unlikely at this stage though. |

| Oh you silly. I'd like to add a disclaimer that I finish a lot of games with limited time, hence by big-o-backlog; this probably makes me a philistine, but I can't be arsed to have another go of Two problems I have: 1) This one is my problem, admittedly - it turns out first person games with no static reference on the screen just make me motion sick all the time now, and 2) I only got through the first chapter; I appreciate it's probably supposed to be magical, and it might all make some kind of reasonable sense in the end, but this really does seem to be a case of "what bollocks can we make up, and convince people to take it seriously?". Will I like Gone Home better? |

| I think The Stanley Parable ruined everything for me - poking fun at a genre that was yet to properly arrive. I probably lack the emotional maturity to take something like this seriously. No. I's the game that's wrong. |
