Points, Thanks and Reputation System Chat

There is actually a reputation system I can set up on the forum, if enough people are interested. I'd only be enabling upvotes though.

Anyway, I don't think really need it in a community of about twenty regular posters.

Still is, but you can only use it in threads you've created, and only once. It's a bit silly really.

What is the Points system we have already?

One point per post, two points per topic, three points per "thanking". Means very little when it's basically your postcount. Maybe I should make topic-posting worth negative points, to discourage over-posting of topics? But would anybody really give a toss?

I don't see the point in having upvotes enabled tbh, I think we can tell what's good & what isn't depending on how a thread is going.

There's a "thanks" button on posts in threads you've created. Anyway, how do I get criticised for Pokémon discussion in the Smash thread, and this is fine?  

Time to take this to or merge it in the appropriate section then?

Without meaning to derail the topic completely... Balls Man, how do you have fewer points than you do posts if you get a point for each post?

No really, it is. The two "secret" sub-fora (Admintendo Discussion and Admins.' Hut, the latter of which is a bit dusty nowadays  ) don't give points.

So the system would be pretty similar to giving a 'Yeah!' to something on Miiverse? If that's the case, I say, "Go for it!"

Can I RT & #hastag that's the important question's.

The even more important question is what is a #hastag?
