I'm already giving it a rest, right after unlocking the 150 Trophies challenge. I should do more, like make more custom fighters, but I'm really unlikely to use them, so...

I've not played for a while, after seeing the Wii U version 50 things trailer. That's the SMASH I want to play but still would like to finish with every character on the 3DS & try some modes. Also try the custom character to bring over to the Wii U version.

I have about seven to go, of which three are "beat All-Star/Smash Run/100-Man with everyone" and which I should finish this week. Then two are "collect all this randomly given rubbish" (equipment and Smash Powers, I think), one is 20 Smashpass chain reaction KOs when I hardly get any Smashpass hits, and one is get 1000 KOs and I'm on 600 or so. So even with strategic Golden Hammer usage, I'll still have one left!

| Yeah I'm not going to make the same mistake agian with the other panels like I did with the first, well on the English one anyway.
And apparently there is a new patch out for the game now as well |

| Unlockable character: - Spoiler:
I've just unlocked Lucana, who, at a guess, is from Fire Emblem. How many Fire Emblem characters are in this game? I've not totalled it up, but it must be close to six hundred and ninety.

Does that character (who was revealed by Sakurai pre-release, so I don't think they need to be spoilered) even count as a separate one, though? For tallying purposes? Could have done without them, I'll agree - could have had another Pokémon in their place! Shulk is surprisingly good: that whole dual-range thing he's got going on with the Monado, and his tilts and Smashes are all decently strong. Shame about his special moves, though - not to mention his voice. He sounds fruitier than a greengrocer's, and the hand gestures while he's taunting don't help. I've started cheating to get the last few challenges. The "get 1000 KOs" has resulted on me as a power character vs. three lv. 1 light characters on the Final Destination, with their damage percentages whacked up to 300%.

Got a question about the 300 KO's challenge, is that KO's across all modes or just a specific one?

I think it's only on standard fights. Pretty sure after completing all characters on classic and all-star I'd have it by now if not...

Andy's right, I'm afraid. Fortunately the timing ones can use any method, I believe (he says, with one stationary player character and three lv. 1 CPUs "fighting" in the background).

I forgot about the records menus in this game and I have 108 KO's to get. EDIT: I just done a 60 minute fight and got 142 KO's (cpu level was at 3 as I'm not a mad man)

I've gone beyond the 50h, according to my stats., and the game still doesn't recognise that challenge as finished.

I guess the cheating way to do it would be to set up the longest timed fight possible with CPU's & let them fight it out. (but that's just boring)

I'd do that if I could, but unfortunately it multiplies hours played by the number of human participants.

I can't see the joy in even bothering with the challenges for this game, a good chunk of the third group are so big a time sink they make some of the tales of xillia 2 trophies look reasonable. The skill based ones are cool, but when you start requiring thirty hour of play it ceases to be a challenge and test of skill and just turns in to something boring. It's annoying because without challenges like those I'd probably enjoy shooting for one hundred percent in this smash. But as it is I'll finish classic and all star with the entire cast and get 600 trophies and that will be it. Because forget grinding for crap like custom stat gear, that rubbish can go back in the trash where it came from. I'd rather grind out the Hardcore Rissete Fan trophy in persona 4 than bother with things like that. And no doubt they will expect it in Smash U as well, as if it isn't as pointless as it is already.

At least in U they will probably have five GHs for the top tier of challenges, and none that absolutely require other players (flipping Streetsmash...). But that is more than counterbalanced by the fact that it'll probably be most of the same challenges again.
