| Chucking them on the Stars Catalogue would be greatly appreciated. |

| So here's the first Balladeer's Wii U Smash Week of the new thread. I'm only going to be focussing on the Wii U stuff, because all the 3DS stuff can be found out yourselves now. I will, however, sum up what Sakurai talks about on the 3DS - this week it's Conquest Mode, a secret course and its main feature (think pink), and advising you to use Ganondorf in the Home Run Contest. (It's true - I've got 600+ with him.) - Tuesday (amiibo):
You don't need to use this screen: you can touch down on the character select. Touch it down, and a Figure Player emerges. They fight and develop on their own, apparently.
- Thursday (Trophies):
New shop, same as the old shop. Prettier though.

| Another post, another week. Tuesday was just playing Where's Stalfos? with the 3DS trophy hoard, so I won't feature that. - Monday (Trophies):
Trophies designed from the ground up. Sakurai's cooing about their quality. The one up there's Bass and Treble (icwotudidthar), and this one's Zero. Roll and Proto Man will also get Wii U trophies.
- Wednesday (Game Modes):
SAKURAI!!!!!!
- Thursday (Touches):
Three tips at once in the U version, including stuff about the normal games. Also notable for some twit in the comments spamming "Powerpuff Girls for Smash!"
- Friday (Trophies):
Photo Studio - the bane-to-be of Miiverse. That's Zael, from Vidofnir's favourite game (DLC plz?), and some Fatal Frame girls in the background.

| Isn't Zael an assistst trophy, or am I going mad? Interesting that the hands have separate modes. |

| I've heard that as well & if so it surely means there will be a chance of seeing other new assists. (maybe have them console related?) |

| Sakurai said a while ago that there were going to be some differences in the Assists between versions - just not many. But I can't find anything on the web saying that Zael's an assist, apart from one blog misinterpreting this story. EDIT: Welp, looks like Amazon has jumped the gun in revealing modes. Nothing's safe on the Internet nowadays. - I'm guessing that the greyed out word is...:
..."challenges", then.

| Oh yes, they're going to reveal unlockable characters during it. Be warned, all! (Not quite sure why...)
I probably ought to get an early night. We'll see what actually happens. |

| SAKURAI YOU EVIL GENIUS! - New character cynicism:
Watch as it turns out to be a Lucario clone.
Right, raining on parade time. - General cynicism:
That board game mode? Looks weak as hell, even compared with the dubious Smash Run. All these enemy models ready-made for destroying, and you're just going to scrap them from the Wii U version? Rubbish. And the game still feels a substantial single-player mode short. Could really have done with an "adventure mode".
Events look pretty special this time around, though. And hey - 8-player Smash! Will need to find an excuse to shoe-horn eight people into my flat, again.

| - Big Direct news chatter:
Not who I expected - I was anticipating Snake or Ice Climbers. Still, neat idea and a good way to sell some more copies of the game. I'll just connect off my brother's copy for my free Mewtwo.

| It'll be Reggie with a sack of pennies and brass knuckles. - Thought related to big reveal:
I wonder if the reason he isn't coming till Spring is because he'll be coming alongside a few other DLC characters at the same time?

I liked the look of that mode even if it is clearly set up for local MP more than single player, I haven't really been a fan of adventure modes in past games though & have got my single player fix from classic/all star mode.
--- I quite enjoyed that direct lot's of fun looking content to get tore into on December 5th.

| At least there's one thing to buy this for even without a Wii U, that soundtrack. Twoud be very nice to add it to the shelf.
The game's looking set to be every bit the ten out of ten system seller I was expecting it would be, so many glorious looking modes to play, and I'm sure the new stages will make 3 vs 1 fights fun when I get bored of the modes. That trophy display collection case thing is going to fuel my collecting ocd like crazy. And the new master core form looks absolutely insane.
Also f*** yeah metal face! Always loved that guy. |
