I believe that is the name for Japan 100%, I doubt it be called that here

That title is almost certainly getting changed for its Western release.

Fire Emblem Awakening seems to have had the same title in Japanese and English, but I do doubt that the West will be getting "If" as their title.

Honestly I wouldn't be all that surprised if they do keep the name. Is it pronounced like the word "if" or as two letters? If it's the latter I could see them keeping the name for the english release.

I read on the Fire Emblem subreddit that it could be called that to emphasise how your decisions actually matter this time round. I'm skeptical, but it does make sense.

If if means they've given it a really elaborate branching story,  I could get on the if train. If if is just an acronym or if if is if for something else, I don't know if I'm so up for if.

Jumping for joy when I found the news on the day~! Fire emblem is like the best game to get on the 3DS so having another game is a bonus! Glad it isn't just coming out just for new 3DS, that would really piss me off~! safe for another day

I don't think Fire Emblem needs the extra horsepower that the New 3DS brings, so I would have been very surprised to see it made exclusive to the New 3DS. Having said that, a new Fire Emblem would certainly convince the die-hard FE fans to upgrade.
