| In light of the fairly recent (and silly ) Newsgate scandal that I, uh, missed out on entirely ( ), me and the admin team (pictured below) are considering adding a specific news subforum to the main part of GNamer Forum on the homepage. This will (obviously) allow folk to type about/talk about whatever new stuff's goin' down in a dedicated part of the forum*, where a new topic on each subject will have its own space to breathe. Naturally, we wanted to run it past everyone to see what you all thought of it. *3DS/Wii U/new game announcements and possibly other formats dedicated talk (though the latter choice may get more attention in the news forum) would remain in their respective systems' forums, but everything else will have a dedicated home if it's news, sales/figures or industry development related or whatever. What say you guys? Obviously, if it does go ahead and it turns out to be as cack as the iOS/PC subforums, we can always take it down again. Over and out. |

| I vote yes, firstly because of the Gnamer GNews GName but also because it seems like the next step in the evolution of GNamer. |

| Sounds good to me!
Also, in regards to the iOS and PC forums, are we considering removing them? There's only me and a couple of others who actively play on PC, and even less for mobile platforms... |

| Personally, while there's still an audience for the sub-fora I'd rather keep them: that said, as you identify Jay, you're probably the main man for the PC forum. If you're not interested in keeping it... |

| They should be kept on the basis that we don't know what the future will bring. This time last month the Retro forum was a tumbleweed convention - now look at it! Whilst I'm not expecting a massive resurgence in those fora, you never know. |

Oh I'd love for it to stick around - I'd just feel I'd be pissing into the wind if I tried to start up any discussion there. Mind you, as ZJ quite rightly points out, the Retro forum's resurgence proves that it's wrong to be dismissive of any sub-forum. |

| Don't worry, Jay! I was just having a bit of a knowing giggle when I put that bit into my post last night. As far as I'm concerned, those two parts of the forum don't mean much to me, but even if things only crawl along there, I'm more than happy for them to stay. If they were up for the chop, it wouldn't be without seeking the say so of everyone here. As Zero says: nobody knows what the future may bring. It could make the difference between somebody turning up here once and someone who likes what they see and is convinced to stay. |

| I like to have them there, even if I don't have much to say on the subjects due to lack of an iOS device/PC it's nice to read about and put on my "One day" list. |

| I don't really see the point as like you said if there's news of a New 2DS it's likely we would bring it up the 3DS news thread and recently with the news of the PS4 getting Now up in running, I posted that in the PS4 thread.
So the only thing I can think this is being used for as where a gaming forum (just in case you think of posting world news which we also have a thread for that already) is general gaming news like Ubisoft Share Prices down due to them being jerks well we had a thread that lasted 40 pages fine and we have another one now which is 15 pages deep which hasn't been used for ages as there's been no news to talk about that can't go else where.
So I don't know know what your going to put in this section as we can't even find anything to put in the thread version of it.
If this was for the website maybe it's worth doing but do we want to start putting news articles up. |

Yes, just to clarify to everyone here: I was joking about the closure of those two threads. Or was I?@mas: News articles are fine if anyone wants to post them. All discussion is good discussion. Unless it's a bad discussion. The main idea behind this is to encourage folk to feel able to post a wide variety of things in a relevant place where they feel it will get the attention it merits. |

| I just feel we already have that,
Axis & Beemoh and some others have used the Gaming News thread not just me, Like I said about newsgate is if you don't like sales talk then you don't need to reply or anything just ignore it. It's not harming you or this forum in any way, also one of the problems to start with was there was to many news threads so it went into one thread but now you want lot's of threads .
The only thing there was sometimes over lapping news like axis would post sales up in the gaming news thread and beemoh would post it in Wii U news, that was a issue which never really sorted but seeing Beemoh has gone. There is less likely to be overlapping. |

Gotcha - I struggle with Internet sarcasm sometimes! Honestly, I might make the PC forum a bit of a pet project this year, we'll see. As for the topic - I'm all for a bit of experimentation. Let's see how it goes. |

That would be rather good. I'm certainly no use there. Well so far we have more yays than nays. I reckon we'll give it 'til the weekend and see what it looks like then. |

| Can I be a really picky so and so? Would it be possible to move the news board into the next category down? For some reason, looking at the home page at the moment really bamboozles me. I think it's because I think of the GNamer Forum bit as where I go to talk to you guys in the community or off - topic bits and the Gaming Miscellaneous as the bit where I go to chat games, miscellaneously |

| I do see what you mean. The main reason it's where it currently is is because it bears the GNamer title.
I'll see what Zero and the Balls man think... |
