| I love a nice explosion in a videogame. Got any personal favourites to share? Here's a particular favourite of mine, the Metalhead face-off in Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles IV: Turtles in Time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfA3RC6UQ_4#t=56 That "explosion imminent" noise, increasing in volume just before the big moment, followed by a disproportionately large number of blasts = |

| Balla straight in with a cheaty one! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERKofit71sI
Quite possibly, the most joyous explosions of life and colour in a videogame. And starting at 0:46, you get some absolutely brilliant music accompanying them too. And don't tell me that explosions need to destroy things: there's plenty of grey darkness getting destroyed there. |

| In a complete contrast to Balla's, I'm going to put forward Call of Duty 4's nuclear explosion. It seems clichéd now, but I remember at the time being stunned by this. I think what makes this explosion so effective isn't the explosion itself, but the brief scene that plays out afterwards. |

The first time I witnessed that in the game, it properly gave me goosebumps. |

| Spolsion Man on XBLA is the obvious choice, but I'll instead give kudos the the mighty Blast Corps. Fair enough, the explosions are nowt special today, but eighteen years ago (!!!) they were impressive in their vibrancy and scale. |

| I'm going to be annoying (to some) and pick a pyromancy spell from Dark souls 2 called chaos storm that when used blasts pillars of fire around your character.

| Oh, good choice. Really satisfying weapon to use - nothing in Dark Souls really makes you feel as powerful as that spell, I reckon. |

| The only thing that I'd probably say that comes close is the hex Darkstorm but maybe that's because of how that bastard Navlaan uses it. |

I got it bang on then, and it still applies now. I miss Bob-Omb Blast. |

| Despite a sudden desire to call him 'Ballacheatadeer', he is right - the ending of the first dungeon was just jaw-dropping. I will return to this thread when I can find some Axelay explosions on YouTube. |
