A few years back, I came back to my flat to find my flatmates sitting in the living room, one of them clearly upset, one looking annoyed and the other looking concerned. There was a smashed glass on the floor. I asked what was up, but flatmate A - the upset one - shouldered past me and left the flat. Flatmate B - the concerned one - apologised to me, and followed. Flatmate C - the annoyed one - goes to follow, but stops when I ask him:

"What the hell's going on?!"

"A, that fucking idiot, has only gone and knocked up his girlfriend. They're in first year of bloody uni, 18 years old... what the fuck are they going to do? He came in and smashed that glass when he found out... ugh, idiot."

He leaves, and I shuffle through to my room, thoroughly bemused by the whole proceedings, and understandably concerned for my soon-to-be-a-father flatmate. I pull out my phone, and fire him a text: "Mate, just heard from C - here for a chat when you get back. Don't worry too much... you and your girlfriend will sort this out, I know it."

A few minutes later, a reply: "Thanks man. Just totally confused on what to do - and on this day of all days, too!"

I stop... what does he mean "this day"? I check my calender... and realise I'm the fucking idiot. April 1st.

So yeah, I've always had a soft spot for April Fools Day since then, considering I still get abuse about it today. Still... weak effort admins, we're a wily bunch here.

My issue was you took away 1/3 of the damn sites I have to peruse during the day ya jerks!

...What are the other two?

I have at least six. You need to step your game up, Andy!

Also I kinda feel like the point of April Fools is so that people can get it and feel all clever, or do something really impressive (like the aforementioned Pac-Man malarkey).  Not many people are actually going to be fooled today.

Not getting het up at all just found it annoying more than funny as I came on to post and of course I couldn't do that, as for next year I guess I'll just stay off the interwebs like I usually do.

Now that is a belter of an April fool.

We did offer to move threads into Off Topic, which can be easily done from a mobile. I would have been happy to import any active thread that anyone requested.

After figuring out what it was though that just seemed like a trap for you's to spring April fool, anyhow it is done now and I shall move on.

I dunno. We slog our guts out to keep this place looking spiffy the rest of the year, and what thanks do we get, eh?

I couldn't find another April Fools jokes thread, so BUMP I guess.  Ahaaaaaa...  There must be better ones out there.

It's a strange tradition all round, I reckon. I give this fact on every April Fool's Day that I'm at work but no-one ever believes it. As it's holiday time, I'm sharing it with y'all instead. In France they have the same tradition of morning pranks but they shout "Poisson d'avril!"("April fish!") instead.

Don't they also stick cardboard fish to people's backs as well in France?
