| Well it is impossible so that's fair enough. |

| The Lair's the big flaw I've heard about from a lot of people, and the main reason I haven't paid this game much attention (backlog aside, but I'll gladly ignore it for a top game). I don't want to get all the way to the endgame to find I can't beat the final level. LOOKING AT YOU OCTOPATH |

| From what I've seen it looks like one of them bonus levels that platformers have after you've unlocked all the collectibles, I get that as it's a story based stage then you want it to be beatable but I quite the idea that you can beat it early on if you're good enough. I should probably just find out for myself as I've had the game for a month. |

| Did you play it at all, Smurf? The game was 50% off so I thought I'd give it a bash, and... yep, it's very Donkey Kong so far, and that's very David Wise in the background. I'm two levels in (all the coins, natch) and I feel like I know pretty much exactly what I'm going to get out of this. Which is fine, if not exciting. |

| Keep in that habit of collecting the coins, but know that you can't always get all five in each level on your first playthrough - you'll need extra tonics and to revisit early levels later on.
The Impossible Lair perhaps isn't as refined as Tropical Freeze, but what is? I thought it was excellent, and absolutely one of my favourite games of 2019. |

| Aght, that's going to bug me. I presume the same applies to getting stuff in the overworld? There's already been things I can't get to - I guessed you got a long jump for them? |

| Nope still not played it, I only had lockdown as an excuse to do so as well, I did however spend some time playing the original Yooka-Laylee which is alright, not finished it but I can see myself going back to it in between bigger games. THEN and only then can I look at the Impossible Lair. |

| I've given up on the original long ago, which makes the constant references to its events a little irritating. That's the only thing though: the rest of the game's very solid so far, and for the first time in maybe four months I'd say I have a 'main game' to concentrate on. I like changing the levels too, although I can't help feeling that the overworld feels more faff than fun at this stage. |
