Hi there everyone! I'm guessing you've noticed me lurking around here for a while now with the occasional post, but if you want an introduction I'm OrangeRakoon, current admin of Super ONM. We've been discussing affiliation behind the scenes for a while now, so it's great to finally see it made formal and go live on both our sites! From a personal perspective I think it's great that we've made another friend amongst the ex-magazine community, and hopefully our affiliation program will continue to bring benefits to all involved.

I hope to see you all around, both on here and on SONM!

As for Nintendo Invader, I don't know much about that, but I always felt that it was a partnership with Gintendo Namer, not GNamer? An affiliate of an affiliate. I'll ask Zero.

Header's getting a bit full, but we could scrap some links that are never used (Gallery, Calendar, Usergroups).  But that's for another topic.

Nice to be attached to SONM but I don't think I'll be using it as I'm literally incapable of staying up-to-date with two forums at once, even one gaming one and one Transformers one.

Yeah, scrap those three - I don't think they've ever been used.

This looks great though! I'll pop over and have a gander at SONM.

Due to licensing agreements the character of Dead Lemon can only post on GNamer exclusively. However much like Spidey and the MCU that could change in the future.




What I'm trying to say is my forum-browsing time is limited so don't have time for cross-forum adventuring at the moment. I welcome the affiliation though, so long as we don't get more nonsense about ONM having been better than NGamer.

Greetings from SONM, and welcome to our fifth Smash Wii U and 3DS singles tournament! This time we'd like you to join the fray! We're aiming to make this our first cross-forum tournament with you guys and GRcade!

Post below to sign up; there is no cap. Feel free to invite friends, family, etc. Sign ups will end on Friday the 11th of September.

A date will be determined (see poll above) in which everyone in the tournament keeps free in order to complete all of their matches so that we can complete the tournament in a single day, nice and smoothly. So if you're planning on entering, please ensure you will be free for the day. This post will be updated when a date has been confirmed. Also, if you've got a bad connection, please don't sign up; lag really puts the legitimacy of match results into question. Of course, I can't exactly stop you from signing up, but basically, I'd rather not have to deal with any hassle or last minute re-arrangements, so it'd be much appreciated if you were not 'that guy'.

Stage Selection Rules
Starter stage for the first round of a set. Strikes will be in 1-2-1 order. The player with the lower seed will strike first (Example: 14th seed vs 2nd seed. 14th seed strikes first). - For 3DS, strikes will be the same, but in 1-1-1 order, so higher seed will only strike 1 stage.

**higher seed strikes one stage and lower seed picks from the remaining 2 stages.

After the first round, the order of events is as follows: stage striking, winner chooses character, then loser chooses character. For stage striking, the winner strikes one stage, then the loser chooses any stage remaining from the list.

Dave's Stupid Rule is in place. A player may not pick any stage they previously won on during a set. This could be overridden by Gentleman's Clause.
Gentleman’s Clause (Any stage can be played on if both players agree).

Mii Fighters legal - must have 1111 "default" specials.
The winner of Loser's Final must win 2 sets against the winner of Winner's Final in Grand Final to win the tournament.
In the case of sudden death, the player with more stock or lower percentage if the stock is equal wins.
Self­Destruct Moves: If a match ends with the successful use of a character’s self­destruct move, the player that initiated the self destruct move wins the match regardless of what the results screen states. Self­destruct moves include only Ganondorf’s Side­B, King Dedede’s Neutral­B, Wario’s Neutral­B, and Kirby’s Neutral­B.

If any issue arises during your matches, particularly if you think someone is breaking the rules, please let me know either in PM, in this topic, or preferably in the chat, asap. In the case of someone breaking the rules, it helps to have a replay if possible to back up your case. As the T.O. I will have a neutral stand in disputes and will not give favour to an individual, but keep in mind I will not tolerate rudeness, and whatever decision I come to is final.

You may have seen and got a email yourself, but it seems that the rumours that I heard are true as SONM is closing and merging with GRcade.

Guess we should unsticky this on the 11th too huh. I think we all know Gintendo well enough for it not to need its own thread.

And it's being stickied again thanks to a NEW CHALLENGER AFFILIATE APPROACHING!



After the demise of SONM, I'm sure some of you will be aware of GRcade as SONM merged with the former. OrangeRakoon - who is an admin himself over on GRcade - contacted the admin team not too long ago about keeping the link between forums going strong and I could only agree that it was a stellar idea!

What's GRcade?

GRcade is a community for "Games & Stuff", which is a tagline that holds true for how the site is structured as you'll quickly see after popping across. After starting as Future Gamer in 1998, they were eventually re-branded as Daily Radar and then as GamesRadar, and finally became independent from Future in 2008. Sound familiar? As part of the Future/CVG meltdown ourselves, we share similar heritage and much like SONM, we're all one big extended family, really.

Compared to the good ol' tugboat that is GNamer, GRcade is a sprawling, monolothic cruise liner but don't get me wrong: there's still a clear sense of community on GRcade much like our tight-knit gang over here.

So, why GRcade?

Well, OrangeRakoon mentioned to me that there's "bizarre and frankly sad obsession with inappropriate puns; and a never-ending, literally decade-long and still frighteningly divisive disagreement about which Die Hard films are worth watching." The pun obsession should be an instant sell for some of you lot - the ire of boothisman.gif awaits, methinks - but after having a look over the last few days myself I think there's a great opportunity to have some great games conversations with good folks.

There's definitely a passionate Nintendo fanbase on GRcade as evidenced by a plethora of Nintendo topics strewn across the forum and they share similar interests as shown by their off-topic, er, topics such as a healthy cricket thread (that's one for you, Balla), an active wrestling community and much, much more.

Well, what now?

First off, keep your eyes peeled shortly for a pair of threads going up across GRcade and GNamer.

Right here on GNamer you'll find "If you could add one stage to Super Smash Bros.", and once you've shared your dreams about adding The Sand Bird from Super Mario Sunshine to Smash as a hectic battleground, you can then move over to GRcade where you'll find "If could add one character to Super Smash Bros" where you can share your dreams about also adding The Sand Bird as a playable character.
