| Hello people, I am oldschool. The more mature types around here will know me from way back to the early NGamer days. NGamer was a site that eventually hated my computer, more my internet, it took forever to load a page, so I became lapsed. However I have maintained good online friendships with some of the old crew, especially Stu (I have a few on Facebook, but be damned if I remeember their name to their username, other than Shanks and Marzy). This site is more friendly to my internet, so I like it.
A little about me, other than what is below, I have more game systems than I ever needed and a game collection that exceeds 1200 retail games (I think, it keeps growing). Only Stu exceeds my DS collection (that I know) and be damned if I will reach the level of numbers he has there.
I may be a gamer, but I don't always fit the stereotype, as I have been in the same relationship for 35 years (I am 52) and have raised 2 daughters (17 & 19, no you can't have their numbers). I work with a big multinational company in sales and live a quiet life in rural Tasmania.
Favourite film? - Duck Soup (The Marx Brothers 1928ish)
Favourite actor/actress? - The Marx Brothers
Favourite television/online show? - Soap (Late 70s send up of SOAP OPERAS with Billy Crystal)
Favourite musician/band? - Classic, The B52s. Current, anything post new wave UK - Arctic Monkeys, The Wombats, Dogs Die in Hot Cars, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, Kasabian .....
Hobbies? - Computer games, hiking, fishing
Secret talent? - it's a secret
Favourite sport? - I don't do sport, but I actually do like cricket, the 5 day test kind.
Favourite athlete/sportsman/sportswoman? - they are all useless and overpiad. I prefer the arts.
Favourite food? - Asian food in general and Italian.
Favourite fast food? - I never eat fast food unless I absolutely have to.
Favourite cartoon character? - Prince Planet
Person you would most like to meet? - I am not really sociable, so I don't desire to meet anyone. If I did, they would be a scientist or philospher of some kind.
Best advice ever recieved? - If what you are doing causes you more pain than pleasure, stop it.
Biggest thrill in life? - meeting my soul mate 35 years ago.
If I could have done it differently... no regrets, everything I have done has led me to now and I like where I am.
Favourite computer game? - Fire Emblem everything.

| In one of my interviews I was asked which scientist, if any, I could choose to meet. I answered Paul Dirac. My interviewer told me he'd sat next to Dirac at some dinner or other and he never said a word.
So yeah. Scientists. Not all they're cracked up to be. |

| Right, right, right... gonna do it... *deep breathss*
Favourite film? Ah. Er... Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Favourite actor/actress? Patrick Stewart. You're SO money supermarket.
Favourite television/online show? The Young Ones. No, Father Ted.
Favourite musician/band? Right now, Tears for Fears.
Hobbies? Gaming (derp), writing music... and... doing wees and poos.
Secret talent? Is being crap at a lot of things a talent?
Favourite sport? Overall, I'd say football, but when the Olympics comes around, I'd say Everything in the Olympics.
Favourite athlete/sportsman/sportswoman? I cannot pick... most of the Olympic / Paralympic athletes from Team GB. I'll say Aled Davies as I saw him win gold.
Favourite food? My mum's Chorizo and Tomato stew.
Favourite fast food? Who am I kidding, a Big Mac.
Favourite cartoon character? Right now, Rigby from Regular Show. Prior to this, Pinky.
Person you would most like to meet? Reggie Fils-Aime. It would be Shigsy but that'd be too much, I'd be too "OMG!" - it'd be like meeting the "glamour model" that got you through puberty. Wait. It wouldn't be anything like that. And now this is my longest answer. JONES!!!!!
Best advice ever recieved? Consider how the person at the other end of the phone feels - from my tech. support role.
Biggest thrill in life? I'd have to say going to the Olympics / Paralympics. I never thought it'd happen; every 4 years I'd been glued to the TV.
If I could have done it differently... No. No no. I am a huge failure as a human being, but I am myself. The same would happen again.
Favourite computer game? I'm in the middle of a massive spreadsheet to find out! I think the answer's going to be Ocarina of Time, but given that I'm surrounded by Repton references, I'll pretend it's that.

| I liked Balla's idea of a then vs. now personality profile, so I'll shamelessly copy him. Then is underlined, now is in bold.
Favourite film? Gah... either 500 Days of Summer, Fight Club or Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
This is still hard. Gran Torino, Alien and Scott Pilgrim, I can't pick one.
Favourite actor/actress? Tom Hanks and Zooey Deschanel.
This has definitely changed. Leonardo di Caprio and Emma Stone.
Favourite television/online show? Game of Thrones and Community.
Again, this has changed drastically. Breaking Bad and Sherlock.
Favourite musician/band? Foo Fighters and Elliott Smith.
This is pretty much still the same.
Hobbies? Reading, writing, gaming, and cinema.
Still bang on.
Secret talent? Erm, does having a grade one in piano count?
No, it does not past me. Honestly, I don't think I have one.
Favourite sport? Tennis!
Good taste, past me.
Favourite athlete/sportsman/sportswoman? Diego Forlan of Uruguay (he won me some money in 2010) and Andy Murray for the national pride.
Less so Forlan, more Andy Murray after his run of success.
Favourite food? Bacon strips and bacon strips and bacon strips...
...and bacon strips and bacon strips and bacon strips...
Favourite fast food? KFC, I'm a sucker for it.
I don't eat fast food anymore.
Favourite cartoon character? Can anime count? Because if so, Future Trunks from DBZ.
Yeah, this is still pretty accurate.
Person you would most like to meet? Either Roger Ebert or George RR Martin.
This has changed. Charlie Brooker and Edgar Wright now top my list.
Best advice ever recieved? "Don't make yourself live up to what others want you to be. Make your own path."
New best advice: "Don't try so hard".
Biggest thrill in life? Coming up for a new idea for a story, and the hours of brain-storming that follow.
Um, my passion for writing fiction has waned a little, but seeing people read my reviews is quite a thrill.
If I could have done it differently... Started this diet years ago.
Not tried so hard to change for others.
Favourite computer game? Um... Damn, that's tricky. Either The World Ends With You, Shadow of the Colossus, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy or Mother 3.
I have to add Persona 4 to that already extensive list. |

If I could have done it differently... - I wouldn't change a thing, I've done my best I have no regrets!
Favourite computer game? - It has to have a great story, plenty of playtime and a good depth of game play. Xenoblade overall but for sentimental value, Skies of Arcadia. |

| Favourite film? Not really a movie buff, so it's a tossup between several trilogies. Star Wars Original Trilogy, Pirates of the Carrabean Trilogy, or The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I can't name one film nor nail down which is my favourite of those.
Favourite actor/actress? I honestly don't have one.
Favourite television/online show? Another one I can't nail down to a single thing. Code Geass perhaps?
Favourite musician/band? Yuki Kajiura.
Hobbies? The usual nerd type things. Anime, gaming, and so on.
Secret talent? The secret art of not having a talent.
Favourite sport? Tennis, though I don't follow it due to not having the right channels and not being willing to spend the money for them at this point in time.
Favourite athlete/sportsman/sportswoman? The cliché response of Roger Federer.
Favourite food? Pizza, Supreme flavour.
Favourite fast food? Pizza.
Favourite cartoon character? Lelouch Vi Britannia from Code Geass.
Person you would most like to meet? I'm not really that much of a meeting people type of person, so no idea.
Best advice ever recieved? To attack the first boss of Final Fantasy VII while its tail is up.
Biggest thrill in life? Beating the final Feral Chaos in Dissidia 012. That boss was brutal.
If I could have done it differently... Pretty much everything about my life probably.
Favourite computer game? Xenoblade Chronicles. |

Favourite fast food? Chicken and Mushroom Pot Noodle
Favourite cartoon character? Does Tony the Grrrrrreat Tiger count?
Person you would most like to meet? Um...Rihanna?
Best advice ever received? Don't do things to spite people, do things despite people

Subway. Well, sort of. I go in there lured by the smell, thinking how great it's going to be, and then my average-tasting sandwich disintegrates in my hands and showers me in tomato-y lettuce. I haven't had one of these for ages. I'm okay with that. In the interests of full disclosure, I should mention that when I met up with ZJ not too long ago I had one of these. It promptly disintegrated everywhere and splattered me with tomato-y lettuce. |
