Oof, be careful with that Jas, that's concerning. Hopefully it's just some muscle tenderness and not anything serious like RSI or whatever. At least we've got a Direct to keep you busy tomorrow night.

Yeh I iced it for a bit and the swelling went down, odd thing is I hadn't even been playing much over the weekend prior to that smash bros session.

Mate, got to stop tugging the sausage all the time!
Hope it goes down and wasn't anything too serious.

Also no need to worry guys I'm not one for ignoring stuff like this even though I have decently high pain threshold.

So listen, your boy for his visa. So like, I'm staying in Japan? Maybe forever? I've like, emigrated, and I'm like, happy for the first time in my adult life? Honestly, the only part I care about is that now I'm in a position to make plans so my girlfriend's flights are booked and in two weeks I'll get to see her for the first time in like six months.
I'm gonna bite her butt

Splendid news! I know how little you care for the UK (I don't blame you) and how chuffed you've been about living in Japan, so I'm really happy to see you've managed to keep your life there. Enjoy! Or, er, keep enjoying.
Still Skyping into the meet-ups though?

Ah, amazing news Drunka! Chuffed to bits for you mate.
Only thing is that I guess I'll have to find someone else to go with to see the NJPW show in London in August, then!

Nah, that was just a rumour Mas - the Proms book up the Royal Albert Hall for essentially all of August, which is where AEW were rumoured to be running.

Hooray! Remember the rules in Japan. I heard they were to facilitate the fun.

I'm in the lucky position that if I ever break the rules, I just give it a little "Sumimasen, choto nihongo, gomenasai" and act like I didn't understand

Any of you into that there ice hockey? I watched the Nottingham panthers shit the bed against Manchester but it was cheap and fun. Saw a bunch of people around Nottingham for the playoffs the other day, supporting teams from as far afield as Glasgow and belfast.

It's a sport I can understand the appeal of, being basically a punch-up on ice; but not one I've ever watched.

Yeah, I used to quite like ice hockey - possible because NHLPA '93 on the SNES was a great sports sim, before any good football games came out on the SNES! I've kept a little eye on the NHL since then. I think I like it because it's slidey football, and doesn't stop every 2 seconds like American Football. And Milton Keynes had a team before they stole a football team. I actually went to see them when they were the MK Kings! Sorry Muss, that post was a bit random - I think you just restored a memory, like in Breath of the Wild.

I picked up an NHL game for the PS4 a while back. It's alright but a bit too complicated for my taste. I think that's true of most sports games now to be fair. I still like building teams on them but I don't like how complicated the gameplay has become. They're all a bit Football Manager lite to me, which is bad, because it just makes me want to play FM.

I liked ice hockey when I was in primary school. I lived round the corner from where the Ayr Scottish Eagles played, who eventually sort-of became the Glasgow Clan. It was good fun!
The new computer games aren't good fun though, they've gotten worse over time. If you've got a way of playing it, I thoroughly recommend any of the NHL Hitz games on PS2/GameCube/XBox - if you like "slidey football", those games are Rocket League on ice. Superb!

I've got a student who plays loads of ice hockey, even going as far as like korea and russia to play other folks. Also one of my colleagues was semi-professional but there's no women's league in Japan.

New sports games are an odd bunch as I get what they're going for and I often used to see at the likes of The Game Awards NHL pick up best sports game and then you've got the likes of NBA 2K which is often praised but microtransactions are meant to have ruined that a bit and then MLB The Show is meant to be really good but it's PS4 exclusive which as a sports game always seems odd plus in Europe it's digital only, so I'm never going to spend £55 on a baseball game no matter how good it might be.
I do have NHL 19 on Xbox One when my Game Share mate won all four EA 19 Sports titles, which I've still only played Madden NFL 19 due to the story mode which sort of takes away the utter simulation of it as you just want to play FOOTBALL! Oh and I've not played a football game for years.
