| Ugh, don't like spiders . . . apart from radioactive ones that bite 15-year-old science nerds. I suppose I'll live up to my stereotype and give you - Quelaag:
Woman on top, spider on bottom, bastard boss fight all around. The introduction, where it pans down and catches you unawares, was a classic DaS moment, and Quelaag and Quelana and all the sisters were a particularly tragic little tale. |

| Zero has contributed easily the scariest spider to this thread. More so because it appears in a game where you don't expect something quite that bloody creepy. |

Very creepy - I felt genuine chills after he hit me with his big sleep jab (think Shelob hitting Frodo) and then unearthed a set of horrific poison pincers to nail me with. |

| Top-notch arachnophilia Muss, and obligatory music posting. It's also a reminder for me to change the beast/bird/whatever. So, staying on the theme of things you should run away from in Australia, let's have your favourite gaming snakes.- Best Pokésnake - OH GOD THE SAFE SEARCH DOES NOTHING:
- Here is a sneaky hidden snake:
- For Jay:
A Castle to anyone who mentions any humans/humanoids from the Metal Gear series who may happen to have "Snake" in their names. I know what y'all are like. |

| Snakes... why did it have to give me the opportunity to do the Indiana Jones quote about snakes?! - Snake One:
Great NES game from Rare (whatever happened to them?). You played Rattle (or Roll, in 2-player) and had to swallow little running pills called 'Nibbly Pibblies' to get longer (they were more innocent days). Not a stone cold classic, maybe, but a fun title nonetheless.
- Another Pokésnake:
The original and best. You could probably best a Gen One game using Paralyse and Wrap alone...
- Arg, no!:
Moldorm. Moldorm is looking at you. Moldorm is coming for you. Moldorm is going to knock you off that ruddy ledge once more, just one hit before Moldorm dies, because Moldorm is annoying to the max. Beyond the max, even. Moldorm is life. No, wait...

I quite agree, and I don't see why anyone would mention such a thing in the wake of this cultural icon from the legendarily respected, voices of the forgotten men, Digital Homicide, when they have - This Jim Sterling Crusher to offer, :

| Not had my say on Spiders so: Quite surprised that no one mentioned these ones from Zelda - Gohma:
Love the way this is introduced before you fight it.
- Skulltula:
These are probably my favourite spiders in any game, great name & design, not to mentiion that side quest for the gold ones is quite gruesome for a Nintendo game.
Also with Jay on the Nerscylla from MH4U which is one of my all time favourite MH monster. --- Snakes: Najarala also from Monster Hunter.

| The hours, the hours, spent searching for the source of those irritating scrabbling noises... All too often it was a behind a then-inaccessible waterfall or something. |

Now that I've fulfilled all my stereotypes, by mentioning Dark Souls, mentioning Pikmin AND shamelessly plugging one of our podcasts, I'll try to think of something more interesting. |

| Other than Mr Crispy, Resident Evil 4’s snakes were the scariest moments in that game. Slicing apart pottery has never been so jumpy! Struggling to think of any snake characters outside of bosses (Gobblegut in Super Mario Galaxy 2, or generic snake enemies in RPGs). Snake on the Nokia? |
