Looking like some mad Norse shit and absolutely brilliant. Little more colourful than X was.

I squealed a deafening squeal when monolith's logo came up. This has me really really excited. I'll have to watch it another couple times to form an actual opinion but that's all I got for now.

I want to be excited for this but didn't like the other two games.

The first two are impossible to not like, they're perfect.

I wasn't the biggest fan of X, felt it lacked character and direction.
Andy will confirm that the original was an all-time classic, however.

X is a massive pile of shite, the original is one of the 2 greatest JRPGs of all time (the other is Chrono Trigger).

I liked X. I loved the original.
I'm going to be all over this like a Tory on privatisation.

...I suppose I better get around to playing the original on N3DS now, then!

>No pilotable mechs
>No Sawano
>No resolution for X's bulls*** tier ending
Not interested.
Spoiler:
JUST KIDDING!
I'd be lying if I said the former doesn't make me a little sad, flying around a gigantic fantastical world in my own personal mech is a feeling I will absolutely miss, and I'm mighty angry over X's ending which was the equivalent to "guess what, the entire story was literally irrelevant because PLOT TWIST, now enjoy the ending credits!", but it's good to know another top class JRPG is coming from the masters. Especially given how bad Square Enix are now, nice to know epic scale JRPGs are still a thing.

I even bought a Shulk amiibo to get the extra content for it, so I've no excuse!

I was listening to GamesRadar's podcast (I will stop eventually, as it's a basically-unedited Skype conversation complete with random stereo-changes that feel like some weird brainwashing exercise) but one of the chaps said he'd "eat a hat made of butts" if Xenoblade Chronicles 2 came out in 2017. While I'd steer clear of such hyperbole... given Monolith's previous record of game design periods, and based on the gap between the first trailers of the previous games and their releases... you'll probably have to wait a bit.
(Given that the first one sits unplayed on my WiiU menu, I'm quite happy to wait)

Didn't Reggie get asked about it and he was rather stern and was like its coming this year I promise.

He was told to say that. Monolith came round to Reggie's house before the Switch event and held the Monado to his throat and told him to confirm it was absolutely 100% come out in 2017.

His exact words when asked when the game will release were "Reyn time" and seeing as only one man knows when Reyn time is, and he thinks we're a bunch of jokers, I guess there's just no knowing.

Police are still looking into how a pillar of black rock got to Reggie's house. And can hold a sword.

This could be bad, it could be good. Depends if they give it to Treehouse, even worse than 8-4 when it comes to games whose stories have even a shred of depth, or to a competent localisation team, like the one NoE used in the original Xenoblade.

Hopefully they'll give it to a team who will cover up that bit of leg the lad's showing. Disgusting! Ban this sick filth!

I'm sure it'll be perfectly competent. As sure as I am that if it's judged not to be perfectly competent, some people on the Internet will be so incandescent with rage that they'll be visible from space.
