You sure can and you can download mapped out layouts for likes of Halo 5 right away. I've just been playing indies and stuff that wouldn't take advantage of it.

That was probably the best 3ds launch title for me, top stuff.

Wasn't it actually directed by the inventor of XCom? I think its meant to be a proper hidden gem.

Yup, Julian Gollop was indeed lead producer on it.

Once I got into Ghost Recon 3DS, I totally loved it. A hidden gem for sure.

Yesterday I bought . . . the last of my Christmas presents! I didn't want to finish off my immediate family until they were out of the house for a week, but now I'm all done.

I got mine's done really early this year, for once. It's been refreshing not having to run about like a headless chicken at this time of year.

I bought my last Christmas card today. Everything else has been ready to rumble for a bit now. Can't wait to give The Lady her gifts tomorrow!

I'm going to get the last piece of the puzzle on Saturday. It's as late as I've left it for a long time - if ever.

I bought that Ghost Recon game once for a couple of dollars. Alas I lost it before I got to play it so can't relate to the love people have for it.

I may have spent some of my Christmas Money along with trading in the trade fodder and taking back the Retro-Bit today to get this lot:


I got Assassin's Creed Origins (with the trade fodder) on Xbox One over PS4 because I get an X that's where I would want to play it plus they only had it on Xbox which sort forced my hand. I've talked about AC before how I feel about the series but Origins is this the first since the very first I've like the look of the setting and more importantly the gameplay from what I have seen as it actually looks good to play for once.

Then all the films were from HMV as they have a 2 for £30 deal on at the moment in the Sale for select 4K films, I got Blade Runner, Kong, Baby and La La for £60. I was tempted by the Special Edition Blade Runner (and loads of other films in the 2 for £30 deal plus things like Spider-Man) which has 4 or 5 versions of the film in but it was £35 by its self that I thought am I going to watch 5 versions of the same film when I can pay £5 less and get another film with it.

Batman only came out like last Monday alongside Dunkirk and all of Nolan's other films on 4K part from Memento for some reason, meaning it was pricey at £43 (less then the 2 for £30 if you think about it) and as Valerian is rather new (and doesn't star Kevin Spacey meaning it hasn't dropped in price like Baby Driver) that it was still RRP.

The Studio Ghibli films where in that normal 2 for £25 deal HMV seem to do on them (no anime seemed to be in the sale) which I've looked at a bunch of times, I've always ummed and arred if I should get any and what ones to get but as I had the money I took a punt on two I knew off.

Thanks to Twitter, I've got some more recommendations since of which ones to see first and if I enjoy these I've picked up then I think I might try getting them all and they're numbered set. The main reason I got them is I want to watch more anime and they seem to be the best starting point, I can talk more about that elsewhere.

So when I said I doubt I see any more of 2017 films in the film thread, well I think that just went out the window.

I picked up LA Noire for like £23, new and sealed in cellophane, from yer GAME.

I picked up Nioh on the PSN January Sale as while i didn't enjoy Dark Souls II or Bloodborne, I like Team Ninja games (particularly Ninja Gaiden) and if I don't like this then I'm clearly no longer a hardcore gamer.

I only have my TV, I think it's due living at home that I don't want a sound system blaring away and due to that I've never had one, so I know no difference when it comes to sound, where I've always had a decent TV and jumped on new media soon as.

Ohh how I remember HD-DVD and paying £20 for DVDs.

I think Nioh is sort of in-between Souls and Gaien but I don't think it clicked with any of the Souls lot and I've just not got around to buying it.

A copy of Monster Hunter Stories arrived yesterday. What a palaver: nowhere locally had it, so I had to order it from Argos. It's mine now, though - just as DQVIII gets its claws back into me.

One of the last mail orders I'll make in my current town came in today (going to be nice to live in a place with shops worth shopping in!).  Most of the rest of that series whose first volume I read near the end of last year and raved about, just waiting on the book depository's copy of volume 3 to arrive and I'll have the whole set!  Not waiting for it to arrive before I dig into The King's Blood though!  

Today, in the year 2018, I paid £40 for a copy of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Still no Xenbobobs in the local GAME though

Is it going to be one of these games that turns out to be really bloomin' rare after a common initial release? I hope not, it's a belter from what I've played thus far...
