Sonic Forces

This looks like the 3D Sonic games we know and are used to - none of your wishy-washy mish-mash of eight billion different gameplay styles like you had in Lost World, nor the outrageous shiteyness of Sonic Boom.



Of all the games I'm looking forward to, this is right up there.

The name and logo genuinely make it seem Sonic is about to join the army, navy or air force. I thought seeing him in the Olympics was weird enough!

Named and not shamed! Looking good from here, though perhaps a tad too fast for this old codger.

It looks good but I've come to expect SEGA to mess it up at some-point, we know 2D Sonic is in the game and rumours of Boom Sonic making appearance as well.

Boom Sonic if in the game would be what messes it up but we think from the first trailer that their are possibly 3 Dr. Robotnik's and Sonic Forces have to defeat them.

Sonic Generations is easily the best Sonic game I've played, so I'm all over a similar sort of game. Less of the 2D bits though please - those weren't my cup of tea at all.

Wow, Jay - it sounds like you're the inverse of what you might say was the typical Sonic fan! The 2D bits made Son Gen for me - that's why I'm more up for Son Man than Son For.

Yeah more 2.5D please also the news sheet for this, is that their is a third play style of Sonic which the only one I can think off is Brawl Sonic

Create your on freakin character is coming

They know exactly what they're doing! Sonic fans loooovvvve creating OCs, so this makes a lot of sense.

All those "X the Hedgehog" DeviantArt abominations are going to be given flesh.

I'm going to make big the cat & the Werehog.

I bet that's the reason why you can create your own character - so people can put in their favourites from previous Sonic games.

I for one am very excited about the news.

Their is a demo up on the Japanese eShop which is awful apparently and has a weird 1 minute time limit per level.

I read that and thought "Gotta go fast!". I'm the funniest.

Imagine putting that out two days before Mario Odyssey.

It could be worse Poi a N64 style platformer is out this week on the eShop.

I haven't read or heard anything complimentary about Sonic Forces at all. The proper Sonic The Hedgehog nuts really seem to hate it, which is disappointing. Games journos are similarly negative, but who gives a flying fuck.

Just played all 2 minutes of the demo and the two Sonic sections seem fine, however the avatar section seemed a bit muh.

If Mania isn't the best Sonic game released this year by a distance, I'll eat my hat. My good hat, at that.

It will be, forces will be a 6 at best.
