| I haven't had trouble at any gym yet. I've got six pokemon who all seem a bit over levelled but I haven't really been grinding, unless I'm adding someone new or someone gets ahead of everyone else. (I just beat gym 5). |

Why settle for 2 when you can have them all!. Isn't there a daycare centre in this game so you can breed them? - BallaDEER wrote:

| The whole evolution animation is a bit rubbish. I understand that it's probably too much to have an individual evolution animation for every Pokémon, but I agree with Stu about preferring more biological effects. |

| I am now the owner of a Hasty Lucario that I have Super Trained until it has maxed attack and speed, then polished it off with a bit of HP. Doing that has unlocked a secret training game. And after all that my left hand is screaming in agony. I had to do it however, I suspect my Lucario has flawless speed IV's and I wasn't going to waste it. And now with it fully ev trained I can resume the actual game. Anyone else tried out the Super Training mini game? |

| Yes, briefly. I then got fed up with it and haven't touched it since. Anyway, after a particularly tedious fight with three members of the Terrible Foursome, I've decided that someone (not me) should write a fanfiction about how they all end up: - Trevor becomes an incredibly serious scientist, who still looks like he's about twelve. He flies into a tiny bottled-up temper tantrum if anyone ever laughs at him.
- Shauna becomes a paparazza for a gossip mag. She harbours a crush for Trevor, but he doesn't have any idea because his mind's too full of SCIENCE.
- Calem becomes that one stoical gym mid-game leader that nobody remembers after fighting him. He has a crush on the protagonist (whose gender is irrelevant), but s/he doesn't acknowledge it because s/he could do so much better. That bloke with the v-shaped red hair, for example.
- Tierno doesn't get a job, doesn't lose weight and grows a pathetic beard. He spends all his time dancing in clubs, trying it on with da laydeez, then retiring to his room with a heavy heart to look at porn.
Hopefully these character sketches will make the four of them a little more bearable for someone who, like me, has grown sick and tired of their boring faces. EDIT: Eighth gym beat! Ridiculously easy. Onto the League for me, then! Oh, and on another topic, what are people's favourite Mega-evolutions? Here's an (obviously spoilery) list. - Spoiler:
I think most of them look bloody stupid, like Digimon, or like they were designed by an eight-year-old. Gengar, Pinsir, Tyranitar, MANECTRIC, and several others. My favourites are Absol (natch), Amphy, and the simple-yet-sweet Kangaskhan.

Though to me the Mega Gyrados and Pinsir don't look that great |

| I like most of the Mega's I've seen personally. That said I haven't seen many besides the Kanto starters, and the original six in the initial advert, but I liked what I saw there. The only one I've seen that I thought was naff as Garchomp, but really that was just taking a already naff Pokemon and turning it in to overkill so the result couldn't really be anything else. |

| That Mega Evolution looks mince. I've always thought that was one of the worst, most boring Pokémon - I don't know it's name, nor have I ever used it, but it looks pish.

Can you believe that this thread has over 6,000 views and I've not contributed to it once? There you go.
I'm actually weighing up getting this today, as I've got a ton of GAME vouchers that are doing nothing and a few games I'm wanting to punt. Pokémon has always been a ridiculous time-sink though, and I've got a busy few weeks ahead, what with Uni placements, a new job and a few nights out in between. What's the verdict, GNamer? Is it wise for me to get this? If I played it in moderation I'd be fine...but is that possible with X or Y? |

| It was quite a useful mid-game stooge back in the GBA days. Fast, reasonably strong, but very one-dimensional.
The great thing about the Pokémon games is that you can save wherever. This means that play sessions don't have to be more than a couple of minutes; at the same time, they leave the game open to five-more-minutes/I'll-just-see-what's-around-the-corner syndrome. So... I guess it's down to your own willpower.
If in doubt, buy it before the vouchers expire and leave it wrapped up until things quieten down. I'd say it's one of the better games in the series so far (the graphical enhancements make more of a difference than I'd care to admit), but one of the worst generations for new Pokémon/battle mechanics; but that's just my opinion. |

| I'd definitely recommend it. It's a game you play constantly without giving it your full attention. If you're reading something while having a game and you just leave your 3DS open, running the game for ten minutes it makes no difference. |

| I would say this game is very friendly to people who don't want to spend forever on a rpg, they've overall refined various things that help remove the time consuming things such as leveling up a Pokemon and it's very easy to just drop in and play for five to ten minutes at a time before dropping out again for a while while still getting somewhere.
Status update: Gym four down, how many Pokemon did everyone else have at this stage? I have 99 Pokemon exactly right now including my stash in the pc and my party. As for my party I've made some renovations, Charizard was being lame even when Mega Evolved so he's been ditched since I have Talonflame for a flier and I've brought in Tyrunt to replace him and see what one of the new Pokemon has to offer.
So right now my party stands as follows. Level 42 Buterfree, level 40 Delphox, level 37 Lucario, level 40 Talonflame, level 29 Axew, and level 23 Tyrunt. I was going to drop the Butterfree along with Charizard but then it learned Bug Buzz and started murdering things so it stays for a while longer. |

| At the moment I only have 50 Pokemon including my team, I did start off catching everything in sight but that came to a stop once the buggers stopped staying in the balls. I too have only just beat the 4th gym which was rather easy considering I have 2 fire types to an extent. My team as it stands is: Lucario Lv39 Talonflame Lv 41 Blaziken Lv 47 Blastoise Lv 42 Chesnaught Lv 40 Sylveon Lv 45 Yeah i finally got Eevee to evolve into it's new evolution to give it a try and to beat all those pricks online who will be sure to have a dragon type unlike the random I lost to today |

| I don't catch many Pokémon at all. I have caught every new monster I've come across to see what they're like, but (as I may have mentioned already) there aren't many of them about; so my Pokédex is probably around 50 at this point, on the verge of Victory Road.
And since everyone's giving teams, I may as well give mine (they're all in the 55-57 range):
Stu the Greninja Gogoata JayMoyles the Hawlucha Beemoh the Aegislash Axis1500 the Malamar BallaDEER
I had a Fletchinder (awful awful name), but got fed up with it not getting any decent fire attacks (Ember at level 25 off a mediocre Sp.Att. really didn't cut it), so it never evolved again. Axis knows Flamethrower now should fire be necessary, but we've had grass, bug and ice leaders, and Jay should be able to Hi Jump Kick any non-ghostly steel types among the Elite Four. |

| I've caught one of every pokemon I've come across, so I've caught about 100... My team consists of - Hopkinsville the Sableye, lv53
- Grimlock the Tyrantrum, lv 53
- Lord of Dead the Lucario, lv 54
- Smudge the Raichu, lv 54
- Admiral the Blastoisez, lv 54
- Melisandre the Delphox, lv 54
I'm just about to take on the 7th gym leader. |
