The only caveat I'd add to that is that if you plan to be connected to the internet, you'll want to be on a newer version. The older ones will be underpopulated in the fun transient co-op stuff you'd want to experience, and overpopulated by overzealous cheesing scumbags.

By multiplayer it's the summons, so if you get stuck on a boss you want someone to help you out you'll need them to have chucked a sign down outside the boss room.

Not keen on Axe but am on Blaze

I've only had one run in so far with a bumhead. Having said that, I'm not always restored to human, which would explain that.

Pyromancy is just too fun to give up for me in DaS as well.

You also don't have be locked into your starting weapon mas, just use whatever you find early game whether it's a katana, bastard sword or Falchion.

Ahh someone said hit a dragon 40 times to get a cool sword to use early.

That is an option as well but I'd honestly say just experiment with what you find on your way to find what you personally like.

That Dragon sword is good but it doesn't level up at all so don't rely on it too much.

Yeah I find a lot of folks go the way of Drake Sword followed by Queelag's Sword. It's nice and straightforward as a path if you're not sure what to do. I'm always tempted to go back and play a little bit more in my own style now I understand it all better...

The Reinforced Club has been working like a charm for me so far. Nice and thumpy!

I too went for the biggest whacking stick to whack and bonk people. Is there a better thing that scales up with strength for whacking and bonking?
